8/3 Long time since I raced in Sweden, so it was nice to enter Huskydraget last weekend. Almost like a sprintrace, 2 x 30 km on very flat terrain.
I ran in open class with 8 dogs, H Ebert 8, Manfred Witchel 10 and Anne Liese Witchel  7. Fun to have the germans behind me on a resultlist: for once!. Team was Iver and Yin in L, Vadim, Lømmel, Isi , Ivanka, Carlos and Troy

28/2-05  Nay-La-Chee`s Cool n Rude Hex are bred to Sujozov av Vargevass. Puppies expected end of april.
28/2 NSHK had its annual Winterrace on Femundtunet. It was great snowconditions and many participants. I brought all 21 dogs so its no holliday:) . Luckily my boyfriend is getting good at helping with the dogs and he had his first time driving a team up there. I participated in 8-dog sprint 18kmtrs and the class had 10 competitors. I was nr 5, the 4 first places were occupied by danes and swedes:) Team was Iver and Yin in lead, Vadim, Lømmel, Ivanka Isi, Troy and Carlos .Allways nice to meet people again but time passses too fast. 6/2-05 Had a couple of nice runs in Hurdal, where there was much more snow than here, still no anchorhold, but with Ronny in the sled  I can train all 11 at the time.
Today its all grey down here again and ground is bare. I hope to go away at next days off from nightshifts.
Here s a  couple pic from our last runs in Hurdal

In front Hex and Noia, Isi and Yin, Lømmel and Vadim, Iver and Carlos, Troy, Nikki and Ivanka
29/1 Tried the sled tonight on very little snow on the local road. No hold for anchor and hard to break so had to drive small teams. Dogs got the diahrrea that was around and has rested for a week, so first time out again yesterday.
Seems we have to enter sprintcalss on the NSHK race instead of middledistance. :(

22/1 The ground is finally white again, after the mildest january recorded down here. But its not enough to run dogs on, so nearest trail is Gåsbu, Hamar 110 km each way. Have tried to go there once a week now, late at night and stayed over so that I get two trainingrounds at one trip.. But I can shoot an arrow after a middle distance race season.
A pity since I havent racetrained properly for some seasons now and I was hoping for an ok race season this year.
Regular training has only been possible for people that can travel and stay away from home to train.Well, nothing one can do with the weather:
I have fun with the puppies and work with them. Will put out new pics soon.
And hopefully there will still be a lot of nice trips to places with snow Here is a pic from Gåsbu taken recently

9/1-05 Tried to train two nights ago, just glare ice with some gravel on where I usually train both with wheicle and sled. And the road was closed after 4 km due to ice. Not a distance one want to train in january....Trainingamount is still under 600km since there have been little increase in distances for a long while. Would have been nice to stay for a week somwhere with snow buts its impossible for me to manage. This is frustrating indeed.
6/1-05 Winter is still just hopeless down here. Snow came but melted again. Ice is back but its still possible to go out with small teams in the hills. I have been out on sled just a couple of times since november, the rest of training is short stretches, 11-14 km in front of car.

22/12 Winter seem to delay again. Hardly snow anywhere..... :(
22/12  New pics of Larkas pups  and  Dillas pups
Larkas pups is the nicest looking bunch of puppies I ever had, at least at this stage. They have very good proportions, angulations and type even in young age

15/12 Finally possible to train again since ice has melted down on forest roads.. Dogs has been off for 13days. No snow forcasted for a while. But good to be able to go out again.
11/12 What miserable weather....A mild weather melted the snow but left icy roads so my dogs hasn`t been trained for 9 days now. Better stay home than risk injuries on the slick roads
No snow is forcasted either and I have no possibility to go to the mouintans.,

5/12  They are a fun and sosciable gang and some rascals allreaddy  New Pics of Dillas pups here
The snow has melted now and its probably icy all over. What a pity now that training was good...
30/11-04  First time out with the sled this weekend at NSHKS trainingcamp in Syningen. Beautiful winter weather and good trails and a lot of people participating made it a nice weekend for both people and dogs!

Training run in the nice terrain of Syningen      My car and the handy stake out system made by Frank Guldberg
26/11  Larka delivered 5 large pups (she was extremely big but rest was water....) 2 silvergrey and a white male and one grey and one silvergrey  female. Pics will come soon. Father is Troy There is 1 female available in this litter. More pics here
24/11-04 Winter has arrived with a week of cold weather and snow. Didnt try the sled yet but are going to the mouinans this weekend. I am waiting for Larka to labour, she is very big now and will probably get 7 pups too....
Dillas pups are doing fine, there are two females available.

6/11-04  Dilla delivered 7 fine pups yesterday, one of the fastest and easiest labour I had here. There were 3 males and 4 females.Exept for a black clovermasked female and a grey clovermasked male, all are *dirtyfaces* similar to Dilla
Pics of Dillas pups here

3/11-04  Training dogs alone for the first time  since I injured ancle...have to let the dogs loose before and after hook up, since I cant hold on to them. Most of them are ok to let loose  fortunatly. I manage everything alone now but expect to have pain in the leg for quite a while.
Dilla is getting big, she is due end of this week. I forecast it will be at least 6-7 pups. Larka is starting to grow too.

25/10 Attended the only rig race I had time for this fall , arranged by two local sleddog clubs
Great fun with 45 teams, 20 of them 8 dog teams in wich I started. The route is 6 km.
Has never been that many entries before! The dogs did great and we were 11 out of 20 teams.Only one other siberian team, one malamute and one eskimodogteam.

What wasn`t so great is that I  slipped and fell on the outside party afterwards and injured an ancle. Luckily it wans`t broken but its painfull and I have to use one leg and crouches...not very convenient with kennel and 3 floor house, and the training has stopped til I am able to walk and drive a car again.

18/10 I have 12 mainstring dogs in training now, that is Iver, Yin, Isi, Vadim, Lømmel, Hexa, Troy, Nikki Attilla, Carlos, Noia and Ivanka. I dont get out more than 3 times a week, thats what I get time for and can afford. (gasprizes are at a new costpeak....)
18/10 Attended SPHKs spesciality in Kloten 9/10 judge was Erna Britt Nordin. Entered was NLC Cool `n Rude Carlos who was Best open male with CK and reserve winner male (beaten by 4 males from Working class which is a thing they have in Sweden but not in Norway) Arctic Souls Utu was 2. Winner female with CK and Lure Larka got 1. prize. Been a while since Ive visited Sweden, allways nice to meet  people again, besides it was fun with the high entries (19 males, 27 females)

18/10  Dilla is definatly pregnant, puppies are due beginning of november.
Also pregnant is Lure Larka. She is bred to Nay-La-Chee`s Narrow Trail Troy and puppies are due middle of november

2/8 Nay-La-Chee`s Cry Wolf Xo (NLC Iver Glipp x NLC Svarte Ildico) , owned by Erik Meinhart  arrived today.
The plan is to breed him to Dilla, who is in heat now. She is not the easiest to breed though, since she prefers to lie on her back and whiggle her legs...
I have Xo `s  brother Vadim  but he seem  to have a more hyper temperament, while Xo is very calm and quiet.
Besides Xo is larger, better buildt and has a better coat than Vadim.
Xo has been kenneled here now and then and is such a pleasent boy to have around, he also works well in harness as a leaddog.

Xo in lead at Rørosløpet 04

1/8  Been  a while again:) Started to work  nightshifts again in july, after a  years leave. Only workingsituation that give me some ekstra days off and works well with sleddoglife. Had a job last year that wasn`t a good combination with me who never gets up early, and noon til evening work.
I have 19 dogs right now working my way down to 12-14 but it takes time to rehome a number of dogs.
Today I went out for the first run with the cart, but unfortunatly it seems like the place I used to train in early season isn`t useable anymore. What used to be a quiet road with little traffic, is now a paved road that leads to new houses and industrial buildings....that means I have to drive at least 30-40 km each way to train until  the sheep are taken inside for the fall. Will go out on " expeditions"   to look for some country roads or so.
But since the dogs are so loud when its hook up time I just cant start nearby houses....I claimed  every year that I was gonna work on their behavior during hook up, but never got the time and energy...maybe this year....he he
Seems like all the girls come in heat now so I`m in for some sleepless nights tuned in to the   howlingchoirs of restless boys....

30/5 Arctic Soul Utu  arrived and stayed with me for a week before she went to live on co-ownership with Kari and Ulf Hope.

28/4 Dilla didnt get any puppies unfortunatly. Larka might be bred but its uncertain when she will be in heat
22/2.04 He he rumours rumours:  NO I am not quitting sleddogs, I`m reducing the size of the kennel.so that it will be half of what it was at the most.
This winter has been the one with less training ever and I havent participated in any events, but I hope to be back another season. I am soon back to nightwork wich is the only situation I feel can fit the timeconsuming  sleddoglife:)

11/11 Ivankas pups has long time ago left the nest.A very sosciable bunch of pups. Saga, female, is in Arctic Soul kennel of Finland as an exchangepuppy.Yippe, male is co-owned with Kari Hope
11/11 Things are slow going unfortunatly There will be no racing this year, since training has been down to a minimum due to different circumstanses.I am reducing kennelsize, a number of dogs has been placed, there are still some that are available  for recreational/ pet homes.
29/9  Pics of Ivankas pups 6 weeks
17/9  Pics of Ivankas pups 4 weeks .Most are spoken for, but there might be one  for sale

I didnt have the digital camera at hand, but now I bought my own so in the future there will be pics again. Nomi is put out  at breedingterms with Frank and Nina. Have a few pics, will put up later.

12/6 A bit late, but we had a good day at NSHKs yearly spesciality show 24/5.
Judge Kari Granaas Hansen

4.best female was

Nay-La-Chee`s Cry Wolf Vadim were Reserve winner male with CK
Larka got HP and 2 juniorclass females, (ut hardly walked on 4 legs jumping like kangaroo:-)
Nay-La-Chee`s Iver Glipp got HP (honouraward) in studclass
Nay-La-Chee kennel got HP in Breeders class

12/6  Nay-La-Chee`s Cool`n  Rude Carlos were eyechequed/ gonioscoped today, everything fine.
12/6  Nay-La-Chees`s Narrow Trail Yin got 7 puppies, 4 males and 3 females, father Nay-La-Chee`s Iver Glipp!!!
12/3 Nay-La-Chee`s Cool `n Rude Dilla was bred to Alaskans Ping Ping of Anadyr (Ash) 13/6 Unfortunatly there were no puppies from this breeding.
10/3 Hex, Dilla and Ivanka was eyechequed and gonioscoped today. Hex had a bit dysplastic lingaments (narrow iridocorneal angles), everything else were fine on all of them.

I here that rumours in Sweden have it that my line of dogs has glaucoma:-/ (well I have many lines)
I might as well comment it here, I didn`t have any dog with glaucoma so far!!! Hex is my 2.gonioscoped dog that has a bit narrow angles, something that in worst cases CAN predispose for glaucoma. Just a tiny percent of dogs with narrow angles ever get glaucoma though. In Samoyeds, there is no difference in the percent of dogs with or without narrow angles that get glaucoma, but in Siberians chanse increase with narrow angles. The advice from eye-vets I asked is not to breed two individuals that both have narrow angles. I got that same advice from an experienced breeder who eyecheque all dogs..
Beware that very few siberian breeders in Scandinavia ever gonioscope (or eyecheque) their dogs, so the status is unknown for most dogs and glaucoma is a small problem. Even though it is not called for in the breedclub or kennelclub, and its quite expensive, I eyecheque  for the best interest of my breedingstock in the future. NOT because I had problems!!! Hope that clearified this. I wrote an article about eyeproblems in siberians on norwegian, that can be read here

12/3 Almost 2 months since last update. Winter has been great here, but still another season didnt turn out as expected due to many reasons. On top, the dogs caught a  "sickness" thats been going around this year, which left them  with lack of energy for almost a month after a few days of diahrrea. After the NSHKrace they got kennelcough and I let them off training. So I didnt find the mileage addequate to enter Drevsjøløpet and PolarDistans as planned.I hope for some nice spring runs though!!!Its still a lot of snow in the forest and mouintans.

Went to Norwegian Husky Club winterrace and entered open class 50km for the first time.Beautiful weather and hardpacked trails made it a nice weekend! In the team was Yin and Iver in lead, Noia, Isi, Vadim, Ivanka, Carlos, Djerva, Bandit, Troy and Konyak. Carlos had some problems in his shoulder and was left out day 2. Noia wasnt  feeling good after the sicknes and got a ride in the sled day 2. Day 1 we were 10 minutes behind Karsten and I was happy with that, but day 2 we were in more "trouble" and used much longer time.

Had a go as "touristmusher" as Robert Sørlie has a weekly assignment at Haraldvangen camp. Himself at Iditarod and the kennelassistent didnt have time, me and 12 dogs got the task to transsport 50 danes to give them a taste of dogmushing. ...... I was sceptical, but luckily it was  one adult and one handicapped child sitting in Roberts really huge touristsled.each round, instead of 2 adults which were mostly the case.
The dogs were doing mighty fine galloping the 600 m full speed, but the leaders were kind of tired of the same round again and again... Good thing Lise were there to catch them and get them in the right direction for next round, they wanted to go everywhere else!
This is how Roberts young dogs train for Iditarod!!!

16/1 Entered the first race a couple of weekends ago, Vikerfjelløpet. Kind of a 1 day trainingrace, two rounds 14km each.Nice training for the youngsters since its a lot of passing teams due to the 2 rounds.Placed nr 6 out of 11 teams like last year in 8-dog class.5 of the teams where siberian teams, I had one in front of me (Hans Christian!) Teamdogs where Noia, Iver L, Djerva, Isi, Carlos Vadim,Ivanka and Troy.
16/1-03 Oh gosh, been a while since last update! As you probably has figured out its been too busy for internet around here.lately.It probably will for a while more...
But let me tell those of you who dont live in Norway.... winter has been completely weired  where I live: ITS BEEN A LOT OF SNOW AND REAL COLD!!! Unbelivable! Mildweather arrived yesterday and has melted a lot, but mind you, that is the first day with + since beginning of november!
For weeks and weeks I have had 1 meter of snow here and degrees between 15-30 c .
Despite that my dogs has`nt had the amount of training they could have had duerto this top conditions...Unfortunatly its been toomuch other things on my mind . But we are starting to reach some mileage now. In order to be more effiscient I started running 12-dog teams now. I didnt dare before, because I strongly dislike that much uncontrollable power when somethings goes wrong. To RUN a big team is real fun, but if a dog needs help and you need to STOP them...But I purchased the largest snowhook available and that helped a lot...

17/11
Here is a few  pics from todays trainingrun up in Hurdal. Lot of snow, but mild and moist weather.

14/11 As I finish this update, it started snowing heavily again Only a few drawbacks with snowfalls, dogpoop get buried  too fast, its a hell of a job to showel  all the snow from parkingspaces :-/ And since I work in Oslo tomorrow I can look forward to a hopeless  queue. Southern norwegians don`t handle driving in snowfalls.....
13/11Good to get the sleds out again! Its lot of snow everywhere now and the dogs was extra eager to run tonight.!
Main team this year is Iver, Noia, Isi, Yin, Konyak, Troy,  Djerva and Bandit. Vadim and Carlos is the best of the young dogs and will be on the main team too.The females Dilla and Hex are really energetic, but because of their small size I prefer the boys in races.

12/11 Been a while again! Still too busy for internet these days.
WINTER has really arrived! And as usual, it caused a complete caos down here around Oslo. This is really early for such a large snowfall, and all october was colder than in many years. Good to know that the global warming hase`nt struck us completely yet.In the last minute I decided to change my HiAce into a 4wd version. Turned out too much of a hazard with the other one on slick roads and with the trailer. And that caused another trainingdelay when a week was used on that project.:-) Dogboxes out and dogboxes rearranged back in the short version. After this huge snowfall I`m really glad to be back on 4wd (was having a faithful Subaru for many years....)But I even got stuck with the new car and the trailer though...

20/10 View from my bedroom window this morning!(New yard)
I love snow but I dont want it yet!!!! Guess todays rig-race get cancelled...I didnt get the chance to go to the two others, now its only 1 rigrace left this season.
Oh well, guess I`m forced to do housework today.

19/10 Still snowy in my trainingarea and the dogs loved it! But we are way behind a normal trainingschedule unfortunatly. Today I finished the fencing of the excersisingpen. Its just the entrancegate left now, but its a golly heavy one which need a deep hole in the ground to stay where its supposed too. Hope I get finished.
17/10 We had a taste of winter allreaddy!!!Its been cold and snowing a bit also. My traininghelp Susanne and I got stuck for a while the other day, with summertires and boggietrailer, since there was 10 cm snow at the turningpoint!

Puppies are 6 months now . I have one male(Iver x Djerva)  for sale at the moment.  Noias white girl Misty left on breedingterms  a while ago, and joined her brother Andy with Nina and Frank.

7/10 Been an extremely busy month,  I`m behind with everything from e-mailing (sorry to those who awaits an email!) til dogtraining.(and not to speak of housework, but that is nothing new around her, huh?But its even worse now!!!)
But the new dogyards were finally finished last sunday, only the fencing around the exercisingpen remains now. Since the whole dogyardproject was delayed, dogtraining hasn`t been as I was hoping for so far  this season. Dogs hasn`t been out for more than 10 runs all sept/okt.Other time consuming inscidents has also delayed everything.
But a couple of days more and everything is in order. First frostnights has arrived but there is still "hot" here since 6 bitches are in heat!
Below is a view from the new area, only the main gate and fencing around the area remains.

7/10
At the NSHK "fallcamp"  there was a puppyshow with 15 entrants, judge was Frode Bakke.
Best puppy
was NLCs Djerve Zidane owned by Christoffer. 2. and 3 best male pups were littermates Igloo and Zeke.

8/9
Yesterday I picked up the new car-cages made by Larry at Lillehammer, they turned out really nice! Here he is with the result....

Today I was wondering wether to quit the doglife and start with sandvolleyball instead since I now have a nice field for it right outside my door....
I`m a bit  tired of shuffligng sand and carrying concrete blocks, but when this last project is finished I hope I won`t have to carry anymore of those :-)

Also was out on the first trainingrun today, with the new cart. Still a bit too hot and humid, but  off we went. Susanne and Marlin risked their lifes and were passengers!!!
They also brushed all the dogs and changed straw in all the houses, so I think the dogs are quite happy now!

4/9 Things are finally starting to get going around here. The re-arranging and expansion of the dogyards is coming along and I hope to put the new yards up next weekend.
Yards with good drainage and concreteblocks for easy cleaning and an exercisingpen for the pups, much larger than before. A gate and a driveway will make it possible to take the car inside the pen and let the dogs loose when we are going for training.
Lot of work and expences, but it will be a great improvement for both the dogs and me.!!!

4/9  This has been the warmest august in Norway since they started measuring tempratures 140 years ago. Since I didnt have time to start training  yet anyhow. it doesn`t bother me as much as it should....But its just around the corner....I have now been able to reduce the amount of nightwork since I  have two alternative jobs with different "doggy" friends. This allows me to spend time doing among many other things, computerstuff of the kind I like (in my favourite program Photoshop for instance!).
1/9 NLC Cool Running Kenoia, NLC Cry Wolf Vadim and puppy Possum entered a show at Hundorp, judge R Campell. Didnt get the last Cert I was hoping for with Noia, but Vadim got Cert and BIR (BOB) Didnt stay around for the groups.Visited Larry B on the way inspecting the  new dogcages he is making for my car. They look very  nice, and can according to the constructor, hold tigers!!!
26/8  Lure Larka has arrived, the studfeepup out of NLC Iver Glipp and NLC Gråtass Sina from Berntsens at Lillehammer.
She is a charming and outgoing girl, here inspecting the house.

2/8 NLC Aussie Possum attended his first show together with my mum. Even though she complained about his of lack of
showtraining, they managed to become 2.BIS out of 160 puppies!

1/8
I was visiting Berntsens at Lillehammer and their 7 pups out of  NLC Gråtass Sina x NLC Iver Glipp. 6 weeks and some real cuties! I`m taking a female as studfee pup. There are still a couple of pups for sale. Will put out a picturepage of these pups soon!

28/7
Yippee 2!!! The new training-rig has arrived, the largest VanDyck-cart.(weighs about 90 kgs)
I tried them out last fall and they are very comfortable   to run and gives you good control since they have  brakes on all  wheels and also parkingbrake that digs into the ground.

Since I cant train from home an ATV wasn`t an  alternative.
For the first time in years I look  optimisticly on upcoming  training /racingseason.
But now I better  get started building new dogboxes in the car....besides  the dogyard is going to be expanded and I will hopefully be able to drive the car into the exercisingyard, (at least thats the plan,) will save a lot of time and energy loading the dogs in and out .

28/7 Yippee 1!!! I now have accsess to borrow  a digital camera and it`s as great as I thought it would be... Just shooting away without thinking of developingcosts. Besides it saves you from the scanningtime.Have upgraded the PC too, maybe it will get easier to update these pages...still some work with things though.
28/7 There have been som namechanges etc on the dogs. Christoffer now owns Zidane  formely Zancon,  Yago has changed name back to Zeke. More pups have left and its only a white male out of Noia and a grey Djervaboy left to go. Together with Odin, a Charliepup, 18 months old Valenki also left with Hans Olav and are doing fine in Stavanger.
21/65 Still has a number of puppypics I didnt have energy/time to scan! (Still didnt get a digital camera....)
There are now 2 males left in Djervas and 2 males in Noias litters  for sale.
My keepers are: NLC Aussie Ohnowshow (Kangoo) and NLC Aussie Possum out of Charlie x Iver,  NLC Chill Out Misty and NLC Chill Out Attila out of Noia x Andy and NLC Djerve Zeke and NLC Djerve Zidane out of Djerva x Iver..My keeper female in this litter  was sold after all and will enjoy life with Phoebe,Linka & Ida! Pics soon??? ehem maybe.

Here is Zeke,  the male I keep from Iver x Djervalitter

28/5 Days are flying, with all the puppies to take care of and all the people that come and go to look at them! Good I have holliday right now! I have chosen my keepers, two males and a female in Djervas litter, a male and a female in each of Charlie and Noias litter.I might put some out on breedingterms later. The pups are starting to leave for their new homes, but there is still a number out for sale, mostly males (possibly one female)
Its been pouring rain for some days, not the nicest puppyweather.... So I have some time now to update this page since constructionwork outside in this weather doesn`t tempt me too much

12/5 I know people are waiting for puppypics, but I have been so busy with puppies and fixing dogyards there has been no time. But I finished the last puppypen today so here s a page with Charlies pups. The other will come soon.
Charlie x Ivers puppies 3-4 weeks
Noia x Andys puppies 3-4 weeks
12/5 Sad day. Old Pani had to be put down today, 14 years and 9 months. Her cancer had spread and made her limp and have pain so it was time to let her go. Some dogs are more spescial than others, Pani was one of them. It will feel strange looking out of the kitchenwindow without seeing her face, allways hoping for some goodies to come flying out
29/4 All my puppies are growing fast now, and are starting to get very cute, hope to finish a film soon! Have been  busy rearanging the dogyard lately` Ive been painting and repairing doghouses, building roofs and covering more ground with concretesquares. I`m building some new yards too.Owning a kennel allways gives you something to repair and expand!!!
29/4 Norwegian Siberian Husky Club had its yearly spesciality show this weekend and it was a good one for my kennel!
Fun to see so many dogs entered too, 10 puppies, 22 males and 22  females, thats a lot in Norwegian terms. Judge was Robert Sellevik
BIR (BOB) and CERTwinner  was Berntsens female Ivri (NLC`s Iver Glipp x NLC s Gråtass Sina) She is a very well buildt and cute female who also run in lead Her brother Victor got CK and was 4..VK

Nay-La-Chee had a Breederclass entered which got Hederspremie (?)

The other 3 NLC dogs entered, Tasha, Xo and Zana all got 1.quality prizes. Nara and Tinka entered puppyclass.

And even myself  got a nice "prize" this weekend due to the fact I was  chosen to be  Honorary Life Member (Æresmedlem) of the Norwegian Siberian Husky Club, This was a suprise I really apreciated!
29/4  NLC Iver Glipp has besides my two litters (and two litters earlier), been bred to two outside bitches this year (Moira and Sina) If they get normal littersizes he will be taken out of breeding  for quite a while til the youngest offspring has been evaluated. Its a small breed and its not good with too many pups out of one male.
16/4 Info on litters (pictures will come soon)
Arctic Songs Djerva x Nay-La-Chee`s Iver Glipp
Nay-La-Chee`s Cool Running Kenoia x Sledge Dog Kennel Effendy
Nordviks Road to Glory x Nay-La-Chee`s Iver Glipp
16/4 Charlie got her litter a week ago, 4 girls and 2 boys, some large and energetic pups.I dilute black girl, the rest is grey/whites with typical masks. Djervas count showed by the way 7 boys and 2 girls, I got mixed up in the heat of things.
3/4 Djerva  (father is Iver) delivered a litter of 8 today,  much larger than I expected  (she wasn`t that big, my guess a week ago was 4!), 7 males and 1 female!!! All grey/whites in different shades with typical siberian markings. Everyone is doing fine.
Seem I will be QUITE  busy soscializing pups this spring!!!! Takes a lot of time and effort, hopefully I get some
asistance  from "puppyfans" I know!
3/4  Also expecting pups soon is  Charlie, who was accidently bred to Iver. Charlie was eyechequed clear and gonioscoped in february 02.
30/3 Noia x Andy (Sledge Dog kennel Effendy) delivered  8  puppies  today! 5 males and 3 females.. 3 white males 1 white female, 1grey female and the rest silver gray. Mom and babies are doing fine! This is Noias last litter, some pups are still available to good homes.
20/3 Soon easter holidays in Norway when a lot of people go to the mountains, I allways work though.
But sa few of my dogs go on holiday with other people. The rest of us will probably be able to go sledding down here a while more unless very mild weather disturbs things. Its still a lot of snow in Hurdal. The snow down here on the fields
only lasted a few days this winter.
20/3 BIG SALUTE for Robert Sørlie and his alaskan huskies who became "Rookie of the Year" and nr 9 in Iditarod!!!!! Best time and best placing for a rookie ever!!! Hope this makes it less troublesome to finance next years Iditarod for him! Will also congratulate Kjetil Backen who was nr 10. These guys has very small kennels compared to american standards and do a great job with their teams! The norwegian mushingcomunity was spent a lot of time on Internet during the race I tell you!
20/3 Old Pani is doing fine again! She got a couple of teeth pulled out and was on painreleaver for a week and she`s been eating since! She says halo to her friends!
20/3 Went to NSHK`s yearly races 21-24 february, was going to run 2 x 50km. The day we arrived, snowstorm wiped out all the trails (had been nice and hard...)so day 1 no class could go longer than 12km in a mess of punchy snow.Day 2 middledistancetrail was 37km.
Noia, who was 4 weeks pregnant at the time had more problems than I expected day2 and had to ride in the sled for 1 hour. Thats the first time in her career,.Pregnancy should`nt affect them that much so she probably had a bug of some kind. The others were doing fine.
Was nr 3 in 6-dogclass, 5th best time of 13 teams in middeldistanceclass. RESULTS here

Here we are at the last meters, photo by Annjonette
Left to right Iver and Yin, Isi and Konyak, and Troy in wheel.
17/2 Pani, 14 1/2 years old are in trouble Her teeth is very worne down and are starting to get painful.
She has been  put on painreliever for a while, but of course they dont go on forever in that age. It will be a very sad day when she has to go.She is the sweetest kind of dog you could ever meet.
17/2 Nay-La-Chee`s Cool Running Kenoia got her second CERT today at NSPBK`s show.
15/2 It has now been nice conditions again down here for a little while  since there was a snowfall and then got colder.
I`m down to 6 dogs that are fit for the race at NSHK Vintersamling, those are Iver, Noia, Yin, Isi, Troy and Konyak.
I was hoping to enter 8dogclass, but Bandit and Byks are not functioning very well at the moment.
10/2 I was planning to assist during the Femundrace this year, to watch the action at the Femundtunet checkpoint for the first time. But I chose to stay home after all, among other things to take care of a new "baby" Lerkelunds Lømmel.
He is out of Nay-La-Chee`s Svarte Ildico x Lerkelunds Tserko (Spassky x Darja av Vargevass) Picture will come later.
8/2 Have been 3 rounds at Gåsbu, Hamar this week  thats  220 km in the car for each trainingrun....but I really need to
get some miles more in the dogs if we are to start in the 2 x 50 km at the NSHKrace. This dogrtail-arena is situated
900 m asl. At last visit it was pouring rain all the way til I was 1 km from the  startingarea.... At Gåsbu the trail is prepared with large groomingmachines which make the trail  harder than the dogtrails at home, and permits running on it  without the dogs damaging the surface.
3/2 How long was Adam in paradise??? Its tropic here again, POORING rain and all the snow is gone around here. This weather will continue all week the forcast says.
Up in the hills snow its so punchy you cannot train there either. In other words- no dogtraining at all unless you go up in the mountains, and thats not allways easy when you work all week.....Makes me,and I bet other dogmushers, depressed and pissed.....
30/1 I see many races are moved or cancelled here in Scandinavia and USA due to lack of snow. Guess we are lucky around here after all, its been excellent conditions  again and today its snowing a lot.

Have finally got enough snow to make a trail for training the
young dogs on my neighbouring fields.

30/1 Arctic Songs Djerva was   gonioscoped (normal angles) today .She  is now bred to Nay-La-Chee`s Iver Glipp.
30/1 Nay-La-Chee`s Cool Running Kenoia is now bred to Sledge Dog Kennel Effendy.
23/1 Charlie had taken a brake in her shedding and won BIR, Cert  and  GROUP 1.  at Sandefjord Hundeklubbs show this weekend!
23/1 After 1 week with no trainingpossibilities down here due to mild weather and hardly no snow were I usually train, cold and snow is back, at least in the heights up in Hurdal. Beautiful conditions today. Dogs had their longest run this winter, 38 km and they were really tired.
13/1 Mild weather finally arrived and roads are glare ice and snow is gone at my house...The tropis zone has arrived here too like many other places right now.
13/1 "Noia"  was eyechequed clear again today, she will probably be bred to Sledge Dog Kennel Effendy (alternative his son Troy). Since she waits 9-11 months inbetween season, next year would spoil raceseason and the year after she is getting older.
13/1 Got the "Snøbarna" episode on video today, kind of fun to see! Seems the programe is sent on TV"2 FrokostTV
10 40 at friday, possible earlier too.(7 10?)

7/1 The weather remains very cold, but we could use some more snow in the bumpy parts of the dogtrails. Its too scarce to train from home, too bad since I have many youngsters to try out.
I will try to get some longer runs now, since the team only has ca 400km training in the legs. That doesn`t call for the 50 km races yet, but I will hopefully be able to participate in some middledistanceraces in february/march at least.
7/1 Back from the first race this season, Vikerfjelløpet,  a one day "trainingrace" of 28 km (two 14km  rounds)Up in
the mouintans of Vikerfjell there was sunny and + warm, almost a shock to the dogs after a month of training in the cold!. Rough trail too, but since mine wasn`t the only ones who seemed slowgoing in the warm weather I was satisfied with the result after all., nr 6 (11) in 8-dogclass, less time behind  the alaskanteams than before. Noia & Iver ran lead,  Isi and
Troy had their racedebut and both of them did well, Yin, Byks, Bandit  and Konyak made the rest of the team. Will put out raceresults at www.siberian-husky.net as soon as I get them.
4/1-02 Back from 4  wonderful  days in Gausdal. Perfect winterweather, 15-20-c, full moon, bright sun, fresh snow, beautiful light, alaskanlike landscape, eager dogs  and nice friends.  Can you ask for more?. It was my first time in this area. The dogs has of course  been out everyday even though the lack of training didn`t call for the very long trips (28 km was the longest)
Think my company froze more than me too... and Annes & Kjells  teenagers wasn`t too pleased with the outside old fashioned toilet in 20 below!!!! I forgot my film at home so there were only two pics from the trip!
28/12 Its been wonderful winterweather for quite some time now! A descent snowfall before christmas softened up the hardpacked icy trails, and it has been between 10 and 18-c every day. Nice weather for a dogmusher ! Have had a number of runs together with young and older friends, so the dogs are getting used to different drivers than me.
Have had a few runs with the young dogs, who all seem to enjoy being sleddogs.
Well, Happy New Year to you all! I`ll be off to Gausdal with 12 dogs  leaving the youngsters and pups home with Annjonette who lives here at the moment with her two huskies.
5/12 Winter has arrived here too now! A week earlier than last year. Has been out with the sled, but we has lot to catch up on trainingwise. Allways nice to have the first run on clean snow after having delt with mud and dirt for weeks and weeks.
The young dogs didnt get much training either . I only get the mainteam in the car, and with the heavy  snow on the forestroads I didnt dare to go out with the trailer yet. Must get accustomed to how the new car acts on snow first...
29/11 Miserable weather! . Rain and slush has made the forestroads icy, had one hazardous trainingrun on snowcovered glare ice. Could easily have crashed my new car, better await the weather before next trainingrun!! Last year I had first run on sled the 9 of december.
25/11
I have been without a car for a month now, so dogtraining has been very scarce. But I am now the owner of a rather new Toyota HiAce which I hope will bring me from A to B without problems, even though it isnt the best on winterroads.
(no 4wd...).
I have borrowed different dogcages and a trailer with dogboxes so I can haul the team, until I get permanent dogboxes made in the spring.
When I was readdy to start training again, Troy managed (he smelled a bitch in heat...) to stick his leg out of the dogcage in the night, and fish the ganglines (and a harness) into his box, putting out his sexual frustration on it, with the result my entire 10-dog cablefilled ganglines were mauled to pieces.....Well not the cables, but all the rope around it and on it.Took some days to get new ones....Dogs are fun sometimes.!

Got out on one trainingrun in nice cold weather with new clean ganglines and nice new shiny car, (nice feeling!) but today its undercooled rain glazing the roads so one better stay inside.
Well, with the scarce training so far this year, racing will be only short races and maybe som lateseason-races again.

I have now to an extreme extent fullfilled the saying dogmushing is "NEXT YEARS SPORT" for a few years now and will dig myself in, if 2003 season desnt turn into a normal and descent one!!
And I belive there is a number of people who will put a very hard pressure on me to be sure I start in the Femundrace (280 km) next season... I said I would for 3 years now.....

Its been cold for a long time now, but no snow in sight. Must quite a bit up in the country to find sleddingsnow.(Røros)

7/11 Its frost in the air now and the first snowflings has showed up. I have had to cancel dogtraining for 10 days now due to the fact I have  no car... Old faithful Subaru is retired and the Iveco, which I hoped would work throug the winter without major repair has again (and for the last time) screwed up things.. I was expecting this sooner or later (thats why I didnt make any plans for longdistance-training this season either) I`m looking for a Toyota HiAce now  and will hope for better days so I can get to work and dogtraining when I like to.....
12/10 Has put up new picturepages  of  Noia x Rude-E pups and Ildiico x Iver pups
I have rearranged the puppypages and placed them under Gallery. People seem to love puppypics, allways many visitors at these pages.
12/10 Has visited the Znookapups at Annes place and have put up some photos of theme.
All are spoken for.
Znookas pups 5 1/2 weeks

12/10 Have  been training mainly with my 90 kg cart and small teams (4 dogs, all I manage to stop...quite timeconsuming) for a while, but this stretch is only 6 km. As soon as the moosehunters cool down a bit I will start training in the forestroads again and increase distance. Dogs are doing fine so far, main team this year is:
Noia, Iver, Bandit, Byks, Konyak and Yin is the experienced ones, Troy are working extremely hard, hope he will overcome his stressproblems this season.Only way to know is entering him in races, at training he do fine. Isi is doing really well so far and will probably run on the mainteam.
Gullik also has a high stresslevel, but his workingspirit are good.
Yr
has improved a lot since his first season, but since he is a clown I dont trust him 100%.Time will tell
Tusky is retired from racing but serve as trainingleader.
There are  5 young dogs to try out too.(Valenki,Vadim;Ivanka Sniff & Kinski)

Here I am borrowing  Larrys vanDyck rig... Nice to have good brakes for a change! Christoffer is passenger

8/9 Will go out on the first trainingrun this fall tomorrow. Have been very busy with outhousebuilding and other things that need to be done around kennel/house. I was hoping to change dogvan this year but it seems like I`m stuck with the Iveco another season. That means it  won`t be any longdistancerace this winter either... Hope to get enough training for middle distanceracing though. Its cold air in the morning now and one starts thinking about winter again....
8/9  Znooka got 6 nice puppies 30/8. Two grey females, one sable female, one light  red female, one sable male and one  white male. They will stay with Anne and Kjell til they are 6 weeks and then move to me.(Anne is probably gonna feel like moving with them!!!) There might be  1-2 puppies available.

Info about parents

2/8  Racingseason has started! At least for Iver and Bandit, who participated on a filmset this week, on styrofoam snow!!! They took  part in an episode of "Snowchildren" (Snøbarna)  I was really impressed by  the dogs, they behaved exellent ! A mental challenge to spend the whole day in the filmstudio  with a lot of people, cameras, stuffed, strange looking  "Snowpeople"  etc. When Iver got his harness on and was put in front of the sled, he thought it was REAL winter, scratching the floor to go and making the styrofoamsnow fly!!! I will inform you when I know what time the episode is sent.
Here are some pics from in between the filming.

2/8  Noias pups (Northomes Rude-E x Nay-La-Chee`s Cool Running Kenoia)
have left the nest. Codename for the litter is Cool`n Rude. My keepers are the two darkest females Dilla
and Hex. Sold, but to be kenneled and trained here are the two light grey males Ronaldo and Carlos.
Pedigree of the Noia x Rude-E pups   Pics of the litter
2/7 Nay-La-Chee`s Cyber Znooka, (Nuch Nay-La-Chee`s Cool Running Konyak x Arctic Songs Byks) now owned by Anne Trøbråten , was recently bred to Santo (Romanov av Vargevass x Vargteams Skrollan) Santo reside at Snøheimen Kennel, Rena Pups expected in august Both Santo and Znooka is eyechequed clear, Znooka is also gonioscoped. More details later.
10/6 Charlie entered NKK Drammen, judge Tore Fossum and she was 2. BTK and got CERT and Res Cacib.
30/4  Norwegian SH Club held its yearly spesciality this weekend with long time SHbreeder/competitive musher Karsten Grønås judging. 40 dogs were entered.
I was very happy with the results!    Nay-La-Chee`s Cool Running Kenoia (Noia) was  awarded nr 1 female/ BOS with her first CERT.
Her mother Avatacs Brave Ulveline (Tusky) was 2.best female with CK  and also Best of Veterans
Arctic Songs Byks got 1. prize but were not placed.
Berntsens Tuskydaughter  Nay-La-Chee`s Gråtass Sina  was reserve in the winnerclass.
Sinas 3 entered offspring out of Iver all got 1. prizes. Nay-La-Chee`s Iver Glipp was my only male entered. He got an exellent critiqe, but unfortunatly he was limping lightly and could`nt get any rewards.
24/4 Am I now a breeder of huntingdogs???
In the last Huskyblad we could read about Nay-La-Chee`s Luna Glipp in Finmark, who suprised her owner Arnt Jensen by retrieving a ptarmigan he just shot, sitting down by his feet and dropping  the bird undamaged. I know most huskies off lead with a fresh bird in their mouth definatly would have served themselves!!! Arnts conclusion is he is now the owner of a retrieving birddog....
Nay-La-Chees Gråtass Otto has also impressed his owner Jim with his different huntingskills and most sucsessfully as a trackingdog on a deerhunt- they shot many deer for him (the dog who was supposed to track got mites in the nose and couldnt smell a thing so the husky was stand-in)
24/4 The Ildipups has left for their new homes and are doing fine. My keepers are Valenki, Ivanka and Vadim- code name Cry Wolf since they grew up during the weeks of Norways controversial wolfslaughter..
On the picture belove from left are Zana, Bagera, Tasha, Valenki, Ivanka and Xo. Vadim has hidden.

  More pics here
9/4 I did put the sleds in the garage today, snow is almost melted here now  (But its still trails up in the heights) Last run on the fields was 27/3,not bad. We also had some runs in fog and rain at our first try in touristbuisness, computerpeople from around the world were to have a short run each in the sled. Since we didnt have a trail and my leaders suddenly had forgotten what left and right means, it started out quite embarrassing!!!I If one stopped too long, the sled got stuck in the slush. But we improved after a while, and otherwise learned that the light japanese people (except sumos) are ideal passengers in a dogsled!
30/3 Iver and Charlie were  eyechequed clear by Ellen Bjerkås this week
27/3  Amazingly enough, its still snowy and cold around here! Weather`s been glorious for weeks, hot springsun at daytime, down to -17c at night. Its the latest I ever went out with a sled from here. From newyear and  out this winter has been the best for years and years (not for "normal" norwegians perhaps, but for those into wintersports at least.)
14/3 Went to a last race this winter, Østre Æraløpet 2 x 30 km. Kind of a trainingrace with 30 participants. Trail was very narrow and bumpy with loose edges so snoweating dogs were in for some stumbling! I lost quite some time due to passingproblems first day, but second was o.k. On her 2year birthday Yin ran her first race in lead  and did very well. Her sister Tasha ran lead with Znooka in Kjells team with some of my "oldies" and I only beated him with 10 seconds...
Down here the mild weather is melting the snow very fast now.

24/2 I`m sitting home looking after the babies instead of participating at NSHKs yearly camp/races. Makes me a little restless, but thats the way it goes sometimes.
Have been training from home for 2 weeks now, its still enough snow . The sloping fieldareas around here are covered with hard crust so we can go anywhere. I`ve had some very fun runs out here, training the leaders on offtrail commands. Usually its only been possible with this klind of training in the mouintans, and since I havent been to the mouintans much the last years, none of the younger leaders had got the point yet. Before now. We also train on the very hard comand of STAY!!! wich is also possible since the sun is baking.. Its very cold at night still, so the crust keep hanging on.
17/2 Nay-La-Chee`s Svarte Ildico (sired by Iver) delivered 7 nice puppies today!!!
4 males and 3 females, All are grey, from light to very dark  Pedigree/ info

13/2  Wasn`t actually planning to breed Byks now, but thought it was too bad to leave Åsarna with a female in prime heat and so many good males living in far away places.
She was therefore bred to Vindsnabbes Sirocko see pic to the left (Tordenn av Seppalaska x Vindsnabbes Mirage) a linebred seppalamale belonging to Eva and Peter Mårtensson.Peter`s been a leading middle distanceracer in Sweden for years. Besides being a fast leader, Sirocko has also done well as a moose hunting dog!!!

Pedigree of expected litter

13/2 Back from an exhausting but very nice weekend in Åsarna! We had cold, nice weather, nice trails and nice company.Allways interesting to look at dogs and talk with different people. Anne was happy with her first race and got inspired to start airobics and swimming!
Myself I was happy with the dogs performance, although having to drop Nikki after first day. I knew he isnt a  fast  type, but I chose to leave Byks who was in prime heat. Noia was cleared to run by the vet, but would probably not have lasted all three days due to her sore toe.I missed the two girls, but its allways something in this game. Bandit and Iver ran lead all 3 days, Yin, Konyak and Djerva (loaned back for the occation) were teamdogs. Results can be seen at http://www.siberian-husky.net/resultater/races.htm
5/2 Had last short trainingrun before Åsarna last evening, in - 22 c. Cold enough even for just  3x  10 km runs, I didnt envi the Femundracers who just endured a long race in - 40 c!!! Who should have thought we`d get such a good old winter? After last report it was raining here for some days, snowing higher up. Now its been around -20c for a week! Today its snowing again. The dogs love to run in this weather, but its forcasted mild weather again soon.
Byks, main leader  is in heat, and since I dont know yet if Noia can race, I`m in for some thinking about what combinations to put up front.Hopefully the boys Iver and Bandit will behave.  Sleddogracing  allways keeps your brain busy, heh?
I dislike the stress of sprintracing, but hopefully I can enter some middledistanceraces at the end of the season.!
24/1 Its been snowing some 30 cm of wet snow since yesterday, and the dogs had their first trailbreaking experience this winter, right outside on the surrounding fields. Iver and Yin has never been trailbraking in lead before, but did very well.
Its like one almost forget the extremly mild fall and the global warming for a while! Its unbelivably nice that its been real wintery now since new year!(we used to take that for granted, but not these days...)
Until the other day, its been 10-15 -c so  the lakes finally froze up. Now its even snowing more, and the fact that we have been able to train from home for more than 3 weeks hasn`t happened for years . I also had some really beautiful trips in nice winterweather other places, I get some photos up soon. The dogs have had some 28 km runs now at last, it feels like  we are hedding towars a more normal trainingroutine  again. Mileagewise, we are less that half of the usual amount.
But I`m looking forward to the nice trainingtrips ahead and are glad we live in a wintercountry after all!!!(but looking at the charts of snowdepths around the country it seems like its more snow down here than in Finmark!!!)

Later same evening: Shouldnt have praised all the snow that we have....now its raining.   :-(
23/1  Noia managed to get one of her frontclaws ripped out in my entrancestairs today. What a bummer. Since she is a main leader, this was very sad both for her and me, but I guess thats Murphys law. She was`nt happy watching through the kitchen window when the other dogs got hooked up!  Guess I have to make wooden steps as soon as spring arrive!
15/1  I`m planning to go to Nordic Open, Åsarna after all. Has entered in 6-dog sprint  even though I`m not found of sprintracing. Anne Trøbråten is coming with me and will (if she dare?) enter 4-dogclass, her first race with two of her own dogs and two of mine. Since I get travelcompany and since its fun to meet people, look at dogs and participate after all, sprint is better than nothing. The dogs are not readdy for 50 km anyhow.
11/1 Went to Vikerfjelløpet last weekend, one of the few races  short enough for me  to participate in with not so well trained dogs.
14 km x 1,  6dog pb-class, nr 1(5) with Noia/Bandit L, Iver/Byks Konyak/Nikki. Jan Kolpus was 2. with Djerva/Tusky
 in lead.
Right now its actually possible to train from home! Been a while since we could this early in the season. My neighbour Jan Erik who also have sleddogs, made a nice 11 km trail around the fields. Hope the snow stays here a while longer. Up in the hills it has snowed a lot.
8/1 Spent the new year weekend at Sjusjøen, Lillehammer training dogs and having a nice time. Winter decided to appear in southeastern Norway that weekend, the day before departure it was snowing and blowing so bad here and where the rest of the party lives, that we thought we had to stay home snowed in! But the weather got quiet and very cold and we had a great time.

6/12  Training is lousy these days, once or twice a week due to too much work and lack of inspiration in this weather. Its not raining as bad as before, but weather is constantly foggy and humid . But to look at the positive side- it COULD have been glare ice all over! At least its possible to train.

6/12 Latest 4-legged addition to the kennel is this creature: A baby angorarabbit with yellowish wildcoloring. I highly recommend products made of angoerarabbityarn for people that are much outside in cool weather (like mushers)

13/11 The weather has been exeptionally miserable this summer and fall. Continous rain for 4 months makes everything a muddy mess and they have warned for floods 4 times this fall in the eastern part where I live.
So falltraining isnt allways a pleasure, but I try to get out training 3 days a week. We are way behind the usual scedule, but
even if it turns out to bee little racing, the  training will learn you  about the abilities of the different dogs.
A-string this year is leaders: Bandit, Kenoia, Iver, Byks and Djerva, teamdogs Konyak, Nikki, and the yearlingsYin and Troy. Yin seem to have leaderpotensial and Troy is an extremely focused and hardworking male I have high hopes for if he can keep it up over distance. Time will tell.
This weekend we go to the mouintans and can hopefully try the sled for the first time this year.
13/11 Keepers so far out of this years pups are Kinski out Andy and Tusky and Sniff & Torvald out of Biggen and Djerva

29/8 I have finally added some pictures of my current puppies, more to come.
28/9 I have just recently started falltraining, much later than usually.Since  I cant afford to keep my dogvan running steadily through the season if it acts like usually,,  so I have to skip racing this winter. I will instead consentrate on putting good  training on young dogs and leaders. But if the snow gets good and the van is good, it might be some racing late in the season. I hope so. Then I hope to be racing full season again next year.
20/8  Djerva got 4 pups,1 male 3 females 30/7, all grey. Tusky wasn`t empty at all, she got 1 male and three females too!One buff, one white and two agouties, born
14/8. NordviksRoad to Glory entered her first show at Bjerke, with HP and CK, 2.winnerbitch
18/7 I have picked up two nice 4 year old brothers from Yngve Fagerli (switching to alaskans) Bandit and Nikki.(Robin Hood av Vargevass x Idun av Vargevass) .Both have finished Femund 280 km race. Bandit is a leader. Pics and pedigree wil come later.

10/6 Picked up Isi Birkebeiner at Lillehammer, he is a studfeepup out of Nay-La-Chee`s Iver Glipp and Nay-La-Chee`s Gråtass Sina Pedigree .

27/5 Arctic Songs Djerva was bred to Isslottets Biggen today Picture and Pedigree of Biggen  Pedigree of planned litter
Avatacs Brave Ulveline will be bred to Sledge Dog Kennel Effendy soon
Both litters expected in beginning of august.
Noia will be bred next time she comes in heat.

4/3 Racing at Drevsjøløpet, 100 km 6-dogs.A snowstorm night before the race wiped out the trails, so we had to go the 50km twice. Both me and the dogs slept well after that exercise, but it was a nice trip! Sun and clouds, strong winds, snow, hard trails and soft, inblown trails.I was only siberian team entered, and had Noia/Tusky in lead, Byks and Andy, Konyak and Gremlin in the team.
28/2  Racing  2 x 50 km at NSHKs Vintersamling.in beautiful winter weather!  Thats more than one can say about winter here in souteast of Norway, snow has come and gone (mostly gone) all winter, leaving icy trails or no trails at all.
Iver, Noia, Konyak, Gremlin, Andy and Djerva was in my team that came 3. (8) but speedwise we have some way to go....
If snow stays, there are two more races to go this winter, Drevsjøløpet 100 km and Långberget Open 2 x 43.

23/1 Have entered two races so far this year, Vikerfjelløpet open race (nr 6(6) i 8-dog 28 km) and Svensk Rasmesterskap for Siberian Husky (Swedish championship for SH) nr 2 (7) 2x 34 km The time was suffiscient to get 1.prize in the swedish sledtestsystem. Kenoia,Ulveline, Andy, Konyak, Byks and Iver made the team.

8 dogs are now in racetraining:, NLC Kenoia, NLC Kark, NLC Iver Glipp, NLC Konyak, Avatacs Brave Ulveline, Arctic Songs Byks, Arctic Songs Djerva og Sledge Dog Kennel Effendy Next goal is Nordic Open 4-5/2, but training has been slow due to little snow, so we need some longer runs in order to last 50 km..Has reached about 800 km training by now, that isn`t as much as I had hoped for.
It finally snowed again yesterday,  and the glare ice on lakes and forest roads, and white ice in the trails were softened up a bit. Further north it has been better snow though.
