25/5-08 Yesterday was the yearly spescialty of NSHK. An entry of 80 (thats a lot in Norway) adults were judged by well known siberianmusher Karsten Grønås. Karsten is strict with the CKs only one female got it and 8 males including 2 champions. Tux and Tess managed to trot and stack in the ring after a minimum of showtraining and I was happy to see Gusken and Jeni much more outgoing than before. They all got very good reviews and 5 won their class (only Iver was alone) River was nr 4 in the open class that counted 24 dogs. Johannes SueSuki who was BIM (BOS) is out of NLC Svarte Ildico. BIR was swedish Koryak. Congrats to all winners! 24/4 Took another trip to Gåsbu yesterday and think that might have been the last run on sled for me this season...Summer is nice too! All and all I am happy with the season, lot of snow in general, even though it was not too much around my corner, ok training exept after middle of march. Could have done more leadertraining off-trail and more trailbreaking.in general. But we allways have NEXT year in this sport:) Now its soon puppytime, some shows, I have to buy a new dogtrailer and probably build a new dogbox too. Never any lack of projects when you are into dogmushing! |

|
20/4 Today Anne Kari and me went up to Hamar, Gåsbu with sleds. It`s still possible to train down here too, even though I have not been out since the race since I was sick. But trails of Gåsbu are nice for newcomers on sled, this was AK\ s second time with her own team.. We got up early and ran the 22km round under blue sky and bright sun, but the snow was not punchy yet by the time we came back. Afterwards we had coffee and snacks in the sun with the Alhaugs/Kleven /Jørgensen A wonderful day indeed! ![]() |

7/4 Last race of the season was Rjukanløpet up in the wide mouintans of Hardangervidda. I went to deliver Vytok to Kari and Ulf and started with 8 dogs in the 60km one day race organized by them and some other locals Nice, soscial arrangement!. Weather turned from rain and snow before we started to a really beautiful day, with sun, mostly blue skies and a frisky wind that cooled down the dogs. Plenty of uphills. With the panorama mouintan scenery and perfect weather it made everyone in a good mood, My team started well up the hills, but were completely out of energy before we were halfways...(and my mood sank quite a bit as almost everyone passed us ) The dogs have only been out once on a 30km run since Polardistance but I did not expect their shape to be that rotten.. Well well, Carlos, Ravn, Sikpok, Troy, Pipaluk, Yatho, Gusken and Vytok were all a bit on and off. and my time was very slow, but we had a wonderful day anyway! Kari took a lot of great shots of the teams, she was carried around the trail by a
snowmobile. I will put out a blog later I brought Jericho of Jedeye home from Kari to help the owners get sperma frozen in Oslo I also hope to breed him with a female this spring. More about that plans later He is such a pleasent, friendly and quiet dog, a perfect siberian temperament! |

21/3 I had taken out the gardentools starting to cut trees etc, but today its 10cm snow and really cold. It would have been a nice time to train the youngsters and also leadretraining off trail on the hard crusted snow, but the dogs are coughing still, besides I have no dogtrailer anymore after the inscident where we went off the road after NSHK race so I cant bring everyone on trips Will go to deliver Vytok in beginning of april and participate in Rjukanløpet |

16/3 Just back from Sãrna after hanging out there since we finished the Polardistans 160 thursday night. Both the race and the stay was really nice with great atmosphere, although we had the worst weather in Polardistans history. Raining in the lower parts, snowing and blowing in the higher parts of the trail. I started with Carlso, Ravn, Vytok (borrowed from Snørokk) and the 3 siblings River, Pipaluk and Sikpok in front of a very heavy sled compared to what they are used to. On this race you cannot get help from handlers, all equipment and food has to be carried in the sledBut it all went much better than I feared, sled were sliding easy, all dogs worked eagerly and the uphills was not so bad as I expected. On the mountainpart of the trail it was fog, strong wind and snow, but I could see one or two markingcrosses at the time on the worst places and a little hint of the trail, so it went fine. But I missed the wonderful panorama view we were told was up there..Only exhausting thing on the race for me were all the sideways sliding on the sled wich needed to be adjusted for long stretches. .Last part of the race was shortened aprx 30 km because the lakes had started to open, so after the chequepoint, from where I startet 22 46 it was easy going on swamps. Strong wind and snow though, so I watched out for trailmarkers all the time. Sometimes I wanted to kiss the blue signs that told us we were on right track and I was not the only one... After the slushy last kilometers on the lake it was good to see the lights of Särna again, crossing finishline 03 39. The final resultlist are found at www.polardistans.com I was nr 6 out of 13 teams finishing (15 started) and was very happy with that. Main goal was to finish without getting lost Very good experience both for me and the dogs, a lot of weatherconditions to tackle wich the dogs did without problems and they recoovered very fast. Wagged their tails all the time. I will for sure go back another year! |

7/3 I am standing on my head getting gear ready for Polardistance. I have borrowed some and made some (thanks Frank, Nina, Ronny and Hanne!), now the sleds need a makeover. Dogs that are sure are Ravn, Carlos, River, Vytok and Pipaluk then last training run must make me decide for Isi or Sikpok. Isi has more training and are probably more safe but River and Isi are not the best of buddies so I prefer to pair up dogs that like each other. We will see, had no problems with them on last training. Now that I have Vytok I decided to leave Troy. He has the most miles in him since he was neither injured or in heat, but he looks very tired after training, has his bootieeatingproblem and I fear getting him on the sled due to his size.. I leave tuesday morning, start is wednsday Race can be followed at www.polardistans.com Ulf has made a little film from our windy trip, can be seen at http://www.snorokk.net/video/2008/WindyTrail010308.wmv |

2/3 This weekend I was looking forward to Drevsjørace100km, but Larka was ready to be bred (to Vytok) at the same time.So I went to the Hope family instead, with 7 teamdogs and Larka, Hexa left home in full heat. Ronny took good care of the rest. Nice as allways to visit the Snorokks, and Ulf went with me to train at the big lake Møsvatn. It was very windy and that was good training for both me and my dogs, we are not very used to mouintanweather and trails. I had a full sled and was planning to camp but ended up in Hopes couch with a beer saturday night... In the dark alone I would have got lost out there for sure. Kari and Ulf grasciously offered me to borrow Vytok for Polardistanse. A very strong and hardworking dog,. so he was in my team the weekend and worked well Thanx a lot guys! Sunday I went alone in the valley leading up to Kalhovd...Warm, lot of uphills and heavy load, but trip was shorter than planned due to *complications of directions* he he. More about that in my blog later. Took a lot of nice pics since light was so great, partly sunny but strong winds that made beautiful scenery...will put some out in Gallery soon |

26/2 Back from NSHKs race at Drevsjø and we had a busy but nice time up there as usual. Time pass too fast when one travel with 20 dogs and race middledistanceclass and try to be a bit soscial too. This weekend the dogs were much fresher than on Shamdraget and performed the way I expected them to so I was satisfied. Ravn, Carlos, River Pipaluk, Troy Yatho, Gusken and Isi were in the team, the last two still have some issues, the others were fine espescially Ravn and River. We came in on 3 place and there were only few minutes between the first teams Beautiful sunny weather and hard, fun trails. Results herePhoto by Kari Hope |

18/2 Since its forcasted very mild next days I went out on a short run today, first time at Vekta in Hakadal for the season. Very hard trail as expected despite sun and warm temperatures, The terrain in this trail is more exiting to travel in than the unplowed roads of Hurdal, more hills, bush and lakes. But also steeper hills with some edges that make it more scarier with bigger teams so I took only 7. They were quite slow still. Really got spring feeling today Put out some pics in the GallerypageI was thinking until last minute of about the Polardistans, but now I am entered Despite my bad gut feeling. Guess it will be an expensive, masochistic easterwalk ...Just hope and pray for hard trails and no storm. |

17/2 Second raceweekend is over, SHamdraget in Sweden.Nice to meet a lot of siberianpeople from all over: Crowded starting area, I was glad I had only a 6 dog team since I brought no help. Dogs were as energyless as on last trainingrun, despite perfect weather for polardogs, 19- in the night and 5-6 minus in day, hard, fast, easy trails. Suspisciously quiet at the startingchute... they were just trotting along, hardly galopping in downhills. I did not pedal much just let them trot along. Gusken was completely out like on last run and Isi stopped pulling halfways, very stiff behind. The other teams were flying around in galop...A lot of good leadertraining though, many crosses, very wide snowmobiletrails, and turning in opposite directionn than sprint team just before our nose... Unpractically enough I got a room *next to* what I thought was the scool, were many people slept, but it was the *nearby village* 10kmtrs away...But one gets quite tired on races, so not so much time to be soscial anyway No vet cheque next morning at least. Weather was very much milder, + degrees and sun came out. and made it very hot, and more punchy trails, so most MD teams used 10-20 minutes more than first day. Mine used 10 minutes longer but still I was more happy with them after all. Little more energy and some urge to galopp Ravn and Carlos was faster, Hexa and River did a good job both days,Gusken started working halfways, .Isi cut even earlier though. I did som more pedaling. One german lady scratched second day and the fastest team from day1 took a very wrong trail, Ulf Hope jumped from 4 til nr 1in the class, conmgratulations! |

13/2 Time flies as usual, its lighter days and sun start to warm. After the huge snowfall, of course rain and mild weather returned and made trails rock hard and roads icey. .Dogs have been off too much lately, both because all trails were gone for a while and I am lazy, I had my intense workingperiod and they had diarrhea for a few days and I did not go to visit Kari and Ulf for mouintan training as I had planned, shame on me. ( I am not the most determined and focused racer I `m afraid.) Been thinking back and forth what to do with Polardistance, since the team has not been out on long campingtrips and in nasty mouintanweather as planned. Entrancedate coming up fast. Today it kind of solved itself, since I had only 8 dogs that are trained and within agelimit and not injuried. now I have 7. Going over feet in daylight , cutting nails etc I discovered a large, nasty cut in the side ofone of SikPoks toes, don`t know how she got it. This will put her out of races and training for a while. I will then drop Pipaluk and plan to take Carlso, Ravn, Hexa, Isi, Troy and River to the short Polardistance. So raceplans now is Shamdraget in Sweden upcoming weekend, will move from open down to 6-dogs since there are no 8 dog class in MD in Sweden unfortunatly, NSHK race 2 x 50 weekend after, then Drevsjøløpet 100km, Polardistance 6-dog 160km and then Rjukanløpet and some funrace in Hamar. Put out some pics from one of my rare runs in daylight in Jeppedalen, usually I train late at night...Dogs were warm and uninspired that day, maybe still a bit affected by the diahrreaperiod. Unfortunatlyy the snowplough had arrived at the entranceroad on the way back. ![]() |

3/2 What snowy weather, hardly saw that big snowflings for a long time which came down the other day! Dogs were white all over in some seconds....after the icey conditions left them in the pens, they were very happy to run in the big pen again! All trails gone, Probably half a meter new snow in Hurdal by now All the hard core trailbrakers with big teams and snowmobilers gone to Femundrace most of the week... E6 highway was like countryroad, airport closed...I have my workingperiod anyway but have to get out soon. Don`t think it will be long runs so to speak Its a good time to be a tablemusher and follow the Femundløpet online. I am very happy I am not out there in the wind and snow and potatoflour snow.... I am much too lazy to be able to enjoy such conditions ever... |

31/1 We have 2 max 3 beds in apartment at Femundtunet at the NSHK race, if someone need hoousing and dont have a space yet! |

28/1 Snow is stabile up in Hurdal still, trails are pretty hard now due to all the teams running there. While people living further south than me think its a rotten winter, I am quite happy since I usually go to Hurdal anyway and it has been snow there all season... Been out on a couple of shorter runs, 32kmtrs, with passenger in the sled (Ronny and Anne Kari) to keep speed down and to se how River was doing, He started a major limping and my heart sunk, but turned out it was just iceballs in the feet...puh...To my suprice he let the wristwrap alone so he can wear it in the car going to and home from training. Was afraid he would eat it... Ronny and I got a scare when we went home, it was very strong winds and suddenly the sled came bouncing off the roof on the highway in 90kmtrs an hour...Luckily it was still stuck on one side and it only caused a bulk in the door and some schratched off handlebar lining....could have ended much worse... Today I ran River only 8km with the youngsters just in case, while the rest went 52. Tux had another try in lead and he impress me so far being so focused ahead, even when left alone in front while I went for Iver in the car. Tried the trail in direction of Lygnaseter with the main team, a nice trail mostly following unploughed roads and some swamps inbetween. Will go there again. This week many teams go to Femundrace so I guess it will be more quiet in the trails for some time! By this time, my dogs are finally much calmer at hookups and stops on the trail and thats very nice! We have to go on camping trips soon, to prepare for Polardistance. I will enter in last minute, which is 17 february, since I only have 8 dogs in training that are abowe the 2 year limit and I have to see who has 4 legs to run on by that time. |

24/1 Kaylo was x-rayed again today and this time it showed obvious signs of small fractures in one wristbone. He has a hard lump over it so I started to worry about bonecancer and whatever...He limps less now but have to be off for 6 weeks I am told. He is a big dog with a bit too angeled pasterns, but why 3 others at the moment limp on right front leg also, hell knows...Training is mostly in moderate to fast trot on even trails and the *limpers* are all smooth moving dogs. Lot of teams in Hurdal these days, yesterday we had 7 head-on passings, so its good training for the younger dogs! There have been no problems with passings exept for Gusken is very curious,so his leadertraining are on hold til he starts minding his own buisness. Jeni do very well in lead and she is a much calmer dog now with more training in her legs. When some limpers are left home, Yatho come along in the mainteam, he works very steady and well. If he is not coming, I have to tie him up or else he climbs the fence and lay on top of the harnesspile in the back of the car, desperate to join the party... The bootie Troy ate long time ago was found the other day. This year I have hardly seen any booties in the trail, they used to grow there like flowers:) |
||||||||||
|
20/1 I am not in the best mood these days, but one can`t help get a bit uplifted when snow is sparkling, sky is starry, the full moon makes the trees throw long shadows and the dogs too if you turn of the headlight...., The brain gets emptied of thoughts and worries and you relax watching those good old dog butts running along. Another perfect evening in Hurdal, 8 kmtrs with young and old, Tux had his first try in lead and did fine, no messing around just focused ahead. Then 50 km with what`s left of the main string, 9 dogs included Gusken and Jeni, who in a few days turn 18 months. The others are Carlso , Ravn, Hexa, Isi, Sikpok, Pip, Troy. Hanne examined River thoroughly today, but could not find any obvious painfull areas. He starts to limp lightly after 35 kmtrs, day after training you can hardly see any limping. But it must be something since it returns again and again. I am not very experienced with injuries so its kind of frustrating. |
||||||||||
|
19/1 After this weeks terrible rain and mild weather and just glare ice and green grass at home, I did not expect to find good conditions down here anymore. But much to my suprise there was superb conditions in Hurdal tonight!! Lots of snow left and also some fresh snow so the ploughed road was okay! Almost full moon and snow covered trees.. only sad thing was that River started to limp again at the end of the run, after being off for a week. He had another period off where I thought him to be well but no.. Very frustrating with my two strongest males injured now that race season is on.. Kylo will be out for a long time, he will be x-rayed again soon. Also big congrats to Kari Hope for winning her class in 8-dog 80km in Hallingenrace! She reports that Yippi, whom we co-own, has done a great job in lead this season.-also in the races. |
||||||||||
15/1 After some really nice days with plenty of snow, a damned mild weather and pouring rain is making things bad again...The plan was to get quite some miles on them this week. Will be colder again in the weekend so exciting to see whats left of the trails...Here its only ice so can`t let the dogs out of their pens. Limping Kaylo and Noia are enjoying indoor life and so am I forced to also |

9/1 Moist weather all over but in Hurdal its even more snow than before. A couple of times I had to sit on my knees and dig to find the anchor: I am the most limp one today and was reminded of the good rule not to try unfamiliar trails, with more dogs than you have control off, ...espescially not in the dark I was going to take the *old* round in Jeppedalen since I heard it was opened and the logging finished. After a while Per Mjærum came up beside me with 14 dogs and were going to pass, in same moment the snowmobiletrail took a turn around and back. We stopped and talked about what to do, then my dogs kept on turning so I let them in order not to tangle,24 dog tangle is not so fun. Per asked if I wanted to follow in his tail in the *Jeppedalsrunden* instead, it was supposedly opened. I said no thinking it was too much for Yatho, but changed my mind later when I lost sight of Per. I allways wondered how that trail was. When he passed me in the deep snow I ended halfway under the sled for a while. and one mit in a string stuck inbetween a backline so I was kinda restricted when the anchor got loose. When did the *stay* comand ever work???. Turned out the *Jeppedalsrunden* was not very visible at all and the track I followed ended in Mjærums place on a ploughed road, I saw a trail I thought was the right one but it was too late The dogs took off on the icy road. I cried *right* hoping to catch the trail around the corner but dogs took 90 degrees left and sled flipped and I rolled around with the anchors, there was no way stopping them before they almost surrounded some peoples christmaslightning in the garden. The leaders obeyed *come around* and I clinged to the pile of 10 dogs loosening as many tuglines I could and dragged the pile back to Mjærums entrance and tied them to a post, .Luckily Kjersti was home and helped me get them to the next post around the corner on top of the icy downhill in direction of where we came from. *They are very friendly* Kjersti said and then Isi and Ravn started to fight When everyone was untangleled and Sikpok and Hex, who got loose, were back, I took off again. Instead off leaving the road and take the trail, we were out of control on the ploughed road again (worn down old BeWe brakes is not the best) and it ended in another *come around* and me on the ground, Yatho tangeled severely, screaming, and Kjersti came running and helped me again. Don`t you love those screamers and jerkers when its crisis...strange enough I did not flip in the 90degree turn through the snowbank and we were once again in the right direction...puh... I really hate those kind of situations. We train on the *stay* comand on every trip, but in vain....but guess much more miles are the only thing working.... |

7/1 Snow has been pouring down all over south Norway now (and many other places too) Hurrah! Not so much at my house but very much many other places in an hour range. There is more to come... Training on monday when all the hardcore mushers of Hurdal was resting after raceweekend, finally gave my team some needed trail breaking practice . Much easier in a wellknown trail to start with for the younger dogs. Troy. Sik and Pip worked good, so it seems I have a stresstolerance problem to deal with at races with those two girls. Isis soar toe gets treated and he is in training, River don`t limp now. so will soon be back .. Only serious problem is still Kaylo, . And I feel so sorry for him when I have to leave him home, he is totally unhappy and clings to me wondering why he can`t come. Wet snow coming down all evening... |

5/1 Back from Hamar Hundekjørerfestival and has decided not to drive back up there for 2.heat. . I did not have the best start of the raceseason. The 8 dog middledistance class ran two rounds in the 22 km track since the wind and snow made it hard to keep the 41km open. I dont mind two rounds even if its boring, but one dog after the other had problems so it was even more boring and quite annoying. Ravn and Carlos in lead, River and Hexa did a good job. River started limping lightly just before the finish though and he now limps too much to race tomorrow.. Isi stopped pulling half way after being on and off. He is usually a very safe card It turned out he has an infected toe which was not there recently, but he had booties on due to a couple of cracks and when they were removed he limped badly. SikPok and Pipaluk did NOT perform like they normally do They were tourists today on their first race! And old Troy was a bit on and off too for some reason. I also missed Kaylo very much today:( They haven`t been out since we trained in the racetrack monday. Think the hard trails then took a toll on their feet even if we kept down speed. Well well we will try again:) Trailcondition was nice, sled had good glide and Anne Kari was a clever assistent:) This race was an E-cup Esdra race with 97 teams! Results here |

4/1 Kaylo has been to x-ray of his pastern today and luckily there was no fracture to be seen .(that would have meant 6 weeks rest) He probably has stretched a ligament. He still limps severely so will rest and eat Rimadyl for a while...Put him on a scale at vets office and he was not as heavy as I thought, 27 kgs.... |

1/1-08 Last hours of 2007 was spent in Gåsbu, Hamar, to find trails. A lot of mushers were there to train as usual. The depressing mild weather had taken its toll up there too, so the tracks were hard and in the longest round, 48km, partly icy and rough . I took out 10 dogs for the long round, and after a while Kaylo had problems. He started to limp and I had to put this big bear in the sled. Hardly room for him since I brought sandbags and campinggear, but he was such a clever boy, except for some whimping now and then in the noisy, sometimes steep trail we were on, he was a patient rider for hours. I managed to get lost in the skitracks in the dark, dogtrail followed skitracks for some kilometers and I missed the track off it again...We ran up unknown skitracks for a long time looking for signs of familiar places. Finally the team suddenly stood across a car road so it was time to turn around and try to go the same way back. Luckily the dogs took the same track, I have as mentioned beforea bad sence of directions and don`t remember where we came from even...Finally we were back at a familiar place and I turned around again and found the trail we missed the first time. So I got back a while later than planned, dont know how far we went but maybe 60kmtrs or something. Last team with mostly young and old got out for the 22km and it was long after midnight before I went to bed. Sunny and nice last day of this year. I took both teams out on the 22km round still in trottingpace. Then it was time to pack up and go home and sleep before nighshift. (allways sleep bad away from home!arghhh) Kaylo will go to x ray, he might have a fractur in a wristbone unfortunatly, since he limps severely and THAT is a bummer, with my *tractor* off training/ races for maybe weeks. Its forcasted snow this week so hopefully trails return down here and softens up the racetrail in Hamar for next weekend. Happy new year alll!!! |

26/12 Mild weather came here at Christmas eve, even though it snowed a few cmtrs next day its now mostly gone. Its forcasted mild weather and rain upcoming days but, I think there will still be good trails up in Hurdal. Guess we are lucky since it seems like our neighbours in Sweden has bad snow many places. Pipaluk and Sikpok has finished their seasons and are back in training. First race of the season will be Hamar hundekjørerfestival, 8 dog 2 x 41km: on Vikerfjelløpet and tomorrows Gausdal race I work for a change. Working every 3 weekend allways crash with some races. Today it was wet here but a couple of minus in Jeppedalen and nice trails as usual, this time with some fresh snow on top. Many teams out, also skiers and even a biker Only bad thing is the darned roadblock he he... a couple of pics from 22 des and today ![]() |

21/12 Last days we have been looking for Till up in Gran, since we got 3 phonecalls from people who saw a dog they were sure was Till, in the center of Gran. My dogs have peed around there and both Marcel and me and Ronny have been there looking many times with no signs. Yesterday Marcel got a call that a husky was captured in Gran and they went to fetch it. The dissapointment was huge when it was another dog, a skinny, tall alaskan husky that for someone unfamiliar with dogs could be taken for Till. I knew about this dog and that it was sometimes on the run, but did not know who the owners were so I could cheque with them. So that takes us back to nothing. ![]() These pics were taken outside my kennel today. Chruistmascard is good old Noia, now 12 years Still very cold here and rime all over making a fairytalelike landscape everywhere and beautiful light. Training is a bit behind in miles, mainstring are in beginning of 800 kmtrs and now its forcasted milder again after this weekend. Since I work in christmas there will not be much training then unfortunatly. Right now Ravn is out limping , but hope he will be back soon. The others are doing fine exept Vadim who is out of mainstring training now. How much training its possible to do in nearest future depend a bit on the snow situation too
|
||||||||||
|
14/12 No news about Till, but a medium thinks clearly he is still alive. She did not think he is injuried exept for soar feet. |
||||||||||
|
6/12-07 Unfortunatly these days I have big worry about Till. After the trainingcamp at Syningen, he went home with Marcel to stay there for a while. After just a few hours he climbed out of the dogyard and since sunday night no one has seen him. We got one telephone when someone up in Oddnes (140 km from here) thought he saw a dog of Tills description, so today we went up there to search for him, with no result. To be able to find dogs on the run you are dependent on fresh observations really. Hard not to know wether they are alive or dead and how they are doing. We hope the best and fear the worst.. |

26/11 November update. Now is the nervy time of the year when one expect trainingroads to turn to ice any minute down here....cool weather so far though. Fall has been next to normal, not tropical like we had some years. But now a number of dogs has started shedding again, some say that forecast a mild winter...Hope not!!! God forbid. It goes slow to get enough mileage on the team though, we are soon reaching 500km and thats not exactly much. Eyyy, less than Didrik Qaqeerlaaq even! It has been quite tough trainingconnditions with frozen gravel most of the time lately so didnt go for long trips. Today I was out on sled for the first time this year. Allways fun even though I have been up and down that road hundreds of times.... Takes time though since I drive small teams when there are no anchorhold....At my place its only 3 cm snow but up where I train 25 km from here there were 10cm suprisingly enough.. Running on partly ploughed, partly unploughed forestroad. Hexa and Sikpok is back on track, guess their hormons was a bit screwed up after their seasons. Troy has swallowed his first bootie of the season and I didnt see it come out yet. Upcoming weekend Ronny and I go to NSHKs camp at Syningen, looking forward to that and hope to train a lot on snow. Last wweekend was the NKK winnershow at Hamar. There was change of judge in last minute so from R Sellevik to Liz-Beth Linjeqvist I withdrawed a couple of dogs and showed Gusken and Larka. Both got a 1. prize but nothing more, I guess one have to be satisfied with that on a day when most workingline dogs got a 2. prize. Gusken behaved well and got a very good critiqe, but since he has the habit of seeking eyecontact with me all the time he dont display his excellent movements too well in the showring. I have mostly problems with *vacuumcleanerdogs* on shows, not someone who want to look at me all the time or bite my fingers:) Have to figure out a way to train him to reach out. |

4/11 This weekend Ronny, me and all the dogs went out to the large forests of Mangen to camp out and train together with Frank, Nina and some other people from their area. Nice place with plenty of forest roads, and the terrain was not exactly flat. Good training! After dogtraining we had a campfire, a beer(or maybe 2) and food which were of course nice. As usual when sleeping in tent, none of us slept well, even thoough we don`t freeze anymore..Since I turn around a lot, sleepingbag with a shell outside is a nightmare and the few moments I slept I had claustrophobic nightmares about getting stucked and couldn`t breath he he Its good to get home to a bed again. First night we trained on passings and went 20km with main string dogs and 11km with the rest, sunday we took the same route with mainstring and 7km with rest since Tux and Tesslin was in team. I am very happy with the mainstring dogs so far. They are at the moment Ravn, Carlos, Isi, Pipaluk, Kaylo River, Gusken, Jeni, Troy and Vadim. Sikpok used to be better than Pipaluk, but at the moment she is more up and down so we will see. Season is fresh still and we did not get that many miles on them yet. It warms my heart that good, old Iver is feeling so happy and eager to train again. He is 9,5 years so I guess it would be too optimistic to hope for a last race season. But so far his backproblem seems not to bother him. He can run in lead at training again and that is good too! Goals for the racing season is for me Polardistance 300, 8 dogs and as many middledistance races I can fit into the scedule before that and Ronny will race too.. Since Gusken and Jeni are not old enough for Polardistance, Troy and Pipaluk better not eat booties and get sick. Pip has even more sharklike apetite than her father which make me a bit nervous... |

14/10 Last rigrace in the cup last saturday at Skjelbreia. Nice, cool weather, some 30 entries, some decibel noiselevel...and as before, great experience for the youngsters. Just hope we didn`t get lice and kennelcough. My 6 guys had a good run exept for Carlos, and Ronny drove the 8 dog team from last race. He had to stop once to move a dog over, but they behaved well and didn`t do any tricks on him:) Since I was only 6-dog team who participated in 3 races I was first and last and won the book about Robert Sørlie which I have bought for Ronny but didnt have myself. Afterwards it was suppertime and chat around the outside fireplace Results here While rigraces is the main raceevents in many other european countries, up here its still for fun and training. People mostly race with heavy carts and some has passengers on even. ![]() |

14/10 Unfortunatly Bessie got pyometra and will not have any puppies since she is operated. |
||||||||||
|
8/10 This weekend it was time for another rigrace in the *cup* Different place than last race and less challenging trail, just up a road, wait till all are in and down again, 6 km. But loads of people out for walks along the trail in the nice, sunny fallweather, with or without dogs, so good training on passing Its also good for the youngsters to get some *stress-experience* A soscial event where one gets to chat with people, and have coffee and a bun:) 6 dog team is my 6 strongest males, Ravn and Carlos in lead, Isi, Gusken, River and Kaylo 8-dog team are the old and the young mostly, with Iver and Yin in lead, Jeni, Troy, Vadim, Pipaluk, Yatho and Takhi. Most other teams are alaskans, but some siberians and greenlanddogs too Results here More pics here Next weekend its last race in the cup and a party, so I guess we will go there too Sunday me and Anne Kari took Jeni, Gusken and Tesslin up to NKK show in Kongsvinger. I had missed entry date as allways, but thought they could need some training on inside hall before last NKK show at Hamar. Inside shows are more stressfull than outside it seems, even more crowded, louder speakervoices, slick floor, more concentrated smells etc. That went fine, exept Jeni had problems to walk normally on the slick floor (so I guess she will act the same way on glare ice) We even bumped into Chicki, who were handling a beautiful borzoi male. I love those dogs, but are not suited to have one. ![]() Two first pics are stolen at Omtks page, next by Johanne Sundby. The furry ones get pretty hot after these runs |

|
2/10 Finally a cooler evening again, dogs were eager tonight! Took some *long-tongue-pics.* We didn`t get too many runs in september, but now training is a priority. Leaders in training are Gusken (my favourite:), Jeni, River and Kaylo. Rest of main string are Carlos, Ravn, Isi, Troy, Vadim, Yin, Hex SikPok and Pipaluk. Iver is suprisingly fresh at this point, but I am unsure of how his back will act with more training. Yatho and Takhi are too young for racing this year, and Till is the weakest one of the youngsters so far. Yatho, Jeni and Takhi are annoingly noisy in team, they dont shut up before back in the car. While Gusken and Till is completely quiet. Yatho, who were not coming for training tonight, suddenly sat in the back of the car anyway, so finally he has figured out the art of fence climbing....

1/10 Back from NSHK fall camp, takes a while to clean out car and equipment after 3 days of rain, mud, sand and training dogs....When one travels with 23 dogs, most of the day goes to taking them in and out of the car and training. But some time for soscialisation in cabin and lavvo too. Saturday it was the usual *training-rig-race*, this time two rounds up a hill and down again. My 8 dog team had fastest time of the ones going two rounds and they were Ravn and Carlos in lead, Gusken, Kaylo, River, Isi. Pipaluk and Jeni. Ronny ran 6 dogteam with Hex and Yin in lead, Troy, Vadim, Yatho and Takhi. Fun with some *sprinting* sometimes too! Results here ![]() ![]() bottom photos by Nina Iversiøn |

|
23/9 Today I went to the seasons first rigrace in Hakadal, with 12 dogs and Anne K as handler. Great soscialisation for the youngsters and some good leadertraining, a 3,8 km fun rough-ride of a trail, with roots, rocks, a field, bridges, lots of crossings, head on passings and som normal passings. 6-dog team were Ravn and Carlos in lead, Kaylo, River, Gusken and Isi, 8 dog team were Ravn and Hexa in lead, Jeni,Carlos,Yatho, Takhi, Troy and Vadim. 6 dog team was a little faster than the 8 dog:) Results here Forgot my camera. Upcoming weekend is NSHKs fall camp at Finnskogen, which we of course look forward too: And I wonder about one thing: are females more left winded than males? Jeni, Takhi and Tesslin lean heavily to get as far left as they can, while Gusken, Yatho, Till and Tux runs relaxed on both sides...And I think I have seen that tendency many times before. Strange |

16/9-07 Back from a busy and nice weekend at the swedish SH Specialty in Bjursås. Its good to see a lot of dogs and people one knows, but time tend to fly when one enters a lot of dogs. Very nice location to have the show. Weather caused some problems, since the wind made the different tents flying in the air, it was almost storm at times, with nice weather inbetween. Judge was american SH-veteran Vince Bueniello. who was a pleasent and patient judge. He has judged siberians in many countries. With a different way of judging than we are used to in scandinavia though. We are used to getting a written critique of each and every dog, he only wrote on the ones that got 2-3 prizes and gave a short summary by mouth of what he thought to the owner. He used cards were he wrote for his own use what he thought of each dog, by a scale. He was happy to see so many well conditioned working dogs and gave out a lot of first prizes. The swedish club has different gifts as prizes instead of glasses and pokals mostly, and I brought home two large garbagebags of prizes! The Nay-La-Chee gang did fine considering the huge classes , largest sh-show we have been to! NLC Yinca Tesslin started by winning BIM (BOS) puppy (entry 14 female pups), NLC Yinca Tuxeedo got a HP. In junior class I was happy to see NLC River Tunguska in a totally different mood than on last show, he wagged his tail and stacked willingly, and he got nr 1 juniormale with CK (entry 14) and later nr 2 Best male (entry 85)! In Open class NLC Troyka River got CK and nr 4 (entry 31) NLC River Jenisej got nr 1 junior female with CK (e 18) and went on to be nr 4 Best female (e 98)! Lure Larka got a 1 prize Noia was supposed to be in veteranclass but by mistake I entered in championclass, she got a CK Nay-La-Chee got HP in the Breeders class ![]()

6/9 Fall is here again, time and life pass fast! Last yards has gotten wooden floors and some concrete tiles, houses are repaired, fresh dry straw is filled up in the outhouse. I have 6-7 females in heat at the moment so boyz are a little wild. Only one that didnt come in heat are Bessie at Frank and Ninas.... The days are cooler and darker and training has started here too, with a handfull of runs. I am very exited about the young dogs and look forward to see what they become. Ronny has moved to Lillestrøm now, but are on 3 weeks holliday in US and Marcel is just moving in on a farm a bit further from here than the apartment, but will probably join for some trainingruns still. Anne Kari is also ready for some dogtrainming, and she lives right were I use to train as soon as the sheep are collected. She is also a useful assistant on dogshows, we are going to Swedish siberian spesciality in Bjursås in the middle of the month. Recordmany entries, 206 dogs! I have entered a bunch of dogs, and then its good with some ekstra hands and legs...I have 3 crazy youngsters that didn`t learn to walk in a leash yet so have some work ahead. Looking forward to see dogs and people! I put up a gallerypage from last day of training |

12/8-07 NKK international dogshow in Oslo took place this weekend. And for a change, there was a breed spescialist/musher judging SH, Karsten Grønås of Vargevass kennel..31 dogs entered, much more than on usual NKK shows. The ones that are washed sleep in the car, Gusken did not like that and kept me and Kari awake all night howling while sister Jeni answered in dogyyard.... when he was finally brought to my bedroom he kept me awake panthing and Kari were kept awake by a fly...With the terrible, all muddy and wet show-ground, he might as well have stayed dirty in his yard...He was nervous and shy in the ring this time, and got 3 prize because of temperament, with an exellent critiqe though. After Guskens bad start, it ended much better with soon 12 year old Ch Kenoia taking Best of breed! and best veteran, River got Best male with Cert and Cacib, and Vadim 3 best male. Besides Nay-La-Chee got nr 1 and HP in the Breeders class. In the group we did of course nothing, besides, me and Noia were the most dirty equipage:) In veterans group, Noia had enough and jumped on two legs and galloped. Nuffs nuff! It was a good day after all, and it didnt`t rain and there were many well known faces to see.

12/7 I do a some lay-out updates these days. Since I didn`t use templates and css so far (but on the move to learn DW), its a job that has to be done page ![]() by page unfortunatly. I think webdesign is fun and wish I could learn more faster. I miss pictures of some dogs on the litterpages, so If your dog is missing please send some photos!Soon its training season again and then its probably not so much time for that. Looking forward to fall!. Ronny is moving to Lillestrøm these days, 15 minutes from here. He is getting well equipped for winter these days:) Ronny and River takes a snowdance and hope for good season. Tux and Tess are ready for harnessing when training start august, but they practise very hard in the leash |

2/7 The new, larger space (from 100 to 2000mb) for nay-la-chee.net seems now to be working after a lot off hazzle.*grrrrr* None of my ftp programs managed to upload the whole webside in one go, without freaking out before finishing. I had to do each folder manually after having uncomplete folders all over the place. The site is old and large as you know There might still be some missing pics or links that I didn`t discover |

22/6 Dental clinic at my kitchen table today, Hanne took care of 4 ugly mouths that needed rince! and all ended up with colgatesmiles after the ultrasound machine had cleared the tartar. Lucky me ![]() Three sleepy clients... Noia a bit more relaxed than usually. But she had to see if she missed out on something between napping. Hexa wasnt as sleepy as the rest, but walked about with the strangest movements and legs coding the wrong way ,and a ball in her mouth Vadim has returned home, since Possum didn`t want to shear his girls at Chickis place... |

30/5 So much for clean showdogs. In the digging-corner, a deep mud puddle had gathered down in the clay layer , and that was the most interesting happening yesterday. I didn`t expect them to enjoy digging in it....so much for my renovated, clean gravel and tiles.... Larka is entered at NKK Drammen but have hardly coat left. But since its foecasted sunny weather we will go anyway ![]() |

28/5 The problems with picture transfer is actually that I have used up my webspace at telenor...I am about to buy a webhotel soon anyway but meanwhile I have deleated some old albums and the Mushing section which will be made in a new version when I get the time to learn Dreamweaver |

28/5 NSHK`s Specialty were held yesterday with a good entrance of 68 adults and 6 pups.Judge were Robert Sellevik Nice sunny weather! I had good assistance, my sister Hanne as handler, *secretary* Anne Kari and kennelassistant Ronny (who were even more tired than me from no sleep) Well, result of the day wasn`t too bad NLCs River Tunguska *Gusken* had his showdebut and ended up as Best junior male and 2 BHK (2. Best male) with CK NLCs Troyka River got 1 AK and nr 3. open male Lure Larka was 2BTK (2. Best female) with CK NLC Cool Running Kenoia age 11,5 was best female champion with CK NLC Cool Rascal Smilla got 2AK This year there were 5 breeders in the Breeders class, Nay-La-Chee placed nr 1 with HP More pics can be seen at Stykket^s website and NSHK Lokallag Oslo

3/5 Yins pups are long gone to their new homes. I had a hard time choosing wich female to keep since all were nice, but Tesslin stayed and male Tuxeedo (who I were not supposed to keep, but since he was so small compared to the others I dint want to sell him. He is all energy, but still smaller than his sister) They will get their own pages soon |

3/5 Went to Polardog Club Spesciality last weekend, only 10 siberians entered. Larka got her 3. Cert and BIM (BOS) but since it was same judge as last year, it didn`t make her a champion. Ravn got a 1 prize. Gusken came along to socialize and were happy, since his nirvana is to cling to me like a furcollar and be petted A long day since the 10 siberians of course had about 60 samoyeds and greenland dogs before us in the ring. But nice day in the sun with my friend Anne Kari, Kari Hope and Fabienne, wich we finished at a chinese restaurant.(eh in case of misunderstanding, it was not Fabienne we finished in a restaurant, but the day) |

3/5 Busy in the spring when one has kennel and garden! Thanx to my best friend Ronny, some tons of clay is now outside the yard and 14 tons of gravel INSIDE. So now everything is nice and dry again. When I like to have dogs and puppies inside sometimes, its nice that they are not all dirty in spring and fall. Espescially with the wet falls we had lately, rain for months. Now I will build a few agility obstacles for climbing and a tunnel. Good exersice for passing narrow bridges on the trail and gaining selfconfidence.! I have let them have a corner of deep sand to dig in, since they love it so much. Even though the neighbour pen and waterbucket allways get full of sand. They got a new *kiddypool* which is mostly used by Larka and her offspring... I just love to watch the dogs play, a pity I dont have more land to fence for them, but its much better than nothing! |

3/5 Season is over down here. I haven`t been much out exept for late night trainingruns on shorter runs near here.No nice trips to the mouintans unfortunatly. Had decided on a non-racing season uunless snow came early and plenty and didnt take a lot of travelling. But as most of you know, winmter has been completely lousy in large areas this season. Hope to be back next season with a fresh team- and hopefully we will be able to train during summer if its not too hot.Looking forward to *next year* and I bet the dogs do too |
||||||||||
20/3 Spring is here...after the tiny bit of winter we had Today was last day I can let the dogs loose in the exercising yard, then mud-hell, formely known as grass, will take over. I will soon as possible start to dig out the clay *puh* and refill with more gravels....The mud part spread all over the gravelpart that is there now. Allways some work when one has a kennel Took some neat portraits in the dogyard today, had to make a picturepage out of it, see it here More puppypics soon for those I know wait, but it takes time with computerstuff.... I got talked into starting a blog but I think I will keep it in norwegian mostly |

25/2 Dogmothers… Funny how different they are. Yin is a very good mother opposed to her mum Byks, who was a lousy one. Byks was outside screaming to go training when the pups were 2 days old, and she didn’t protect them at all when a grown dog got into the puppybox when they were newborn (but it was a friendly one) Yin think of them always, and when I washed the floor after their birth, she bit and hung on to the washingcloth when it came gliding on a stick to attack her little ones…But no aggression to people of course, like most Siberian mothers. When the pups of her first litter left at 8 weeks, she howled for every one of them. No one else did that around here. She has carried all foodbowls and even the waterbowl into the puppybox, so I had to change to a different waterbowl, and put the foodbowls right in the puppynest so she didn’t spill it all over the floor. I didn`t realize it at first, but these pups has been eating ground meat since they were 14 days. A week too early. They are 18 days now and yelp when I come with food. So today I took them inside and they got their own plate of food. Finished it and dug into mums bowl. I moved it, but Yin carried it back to the pupsJ No wonder they wag their tails record early too! |
||||||||||
21/2-07 After a period of + degrees, it has become very cold and winterly again. Just enough snow to make a small trail on the nearest field for the puppyteam. In the 300 m of forest that conect to larger field areas are too bumpy to pass with the sleds. So we go round and round the one field .Ravn gets to finetune comands in singel lead. He is very clever, but thinks a bit to quick sometimes and try solutions he isn`t asked to do:) New pics of Yins pups, they are 2 weeks today! |

13/2 Yin and pups moved out today. She didn`t find the kitchen safe enough and was digging a den under the outhouse when I let her out to pee. Nuffs nuff New pics on their litterpage! The *housedogs* are happy since they are now allowed inside again, just ask Gusken ![]() Milder weather again now, around 0, but it has been nice for quite a while I am just taking runs on Holter still. |
||||||||||
12/2 Oh dear what a mess when I came home this morning. Yin has rested quietly with the pups in the kitchen since they were born, its really cold outside and I want to keep them inside as long as possible. Since there are no door from kitchen to rest of house, she found out that the storagecorner in my office upstairs was a nice den. And has bitten cardboardbokses filled with old sketches and paintings, photonegatives, posters etc to a million pieces. I had a hard time digging the pups out again from under the mess...She also made nice nestmaterial from the furniture in the kitchen. I suspect she will try again.... Pups are happy with their caring mother.... ![]() |

6/2-07 Luckily the snow didnt get icy at Holter and now we got a few more cm and really cold weather rest of the week.Yin has finally started some labour here so I guess it will be a bunch of pups during the night Finally got around to fix the Dannler that broke the stanchions last year. Boy what an amount of bolts, holes, ropes, and boongie,,,took me many hours and I was quite mad at times:) Noia and Marja supervising... |

|
3/2-07 Had a nice week where it was possible to go 20-24km with sled at Holter, partly ploughed road. Now its back to 5 + and the road will quickly get icy/gravel. I have been out with 10 dog team and passangers in sled, since its no anchorhold and hard to stop.... Yeni and Gusken had their first tries in harness and espescially Yeni was very intense. First time out she was screaming while running for almost a kilometer. For those waiting, Yin hasn`t started any labour yet. Her stomach grew bigger late so think its more in there than I guessed before. Well, good timing with the mild weather, npw Femundrace is taking place so at least one can be an eager table-online-musher! |

24/4 First sleddingtrip in a long time down here, with Marcel as passenger. We had a nice, cold (18-!) eveningtrip in glittering partly virgin snow and clear skies. Young dogs and b-dogs had a fast run on ploughed road, and boy did the cold biter in the face! At least it will be winter here til over the weekend so sled will be out again. Yin is due next weekend, I suppose she don`t get more than 4 pups ![]() |

20/1-07 Hooray, finally a major snowfall down here. Not that it is so much, but its dense snow and its still coming down. Forcasted minus degrees for some days. Dogs seems to have finished diahrrea, and I have finished my days off.... |
||||||||||
13/1 07 We got snow for 10 hours, then it melted
to ice mostly. I was planning a trip to Hamar again this
weekend but now the dogs got the diahrrea bug thats been going
around, so we had to stay home:( I am even afraid to let them
out in the yard because of the ice but have to let the pups get out
some energy.

9/1-07 Had a nice weekend in Budor to get a
touch of winter. Have only been on sled 4 times before Good feeling,
wish we could take it for granted.. Ronny and I drove a 6 dog team
each and I had a shorter trip with pups, females in heat etc. We
stayed in Frank and Ninas lavvu in the night. For once I didnt`t
freece, but someone else didnt see that zipper was open at feetend
and didnt find the cord to close around neck so it was a cold night:)
8- outside. Heavy snow when we left sunday, pouring rain down here.
Now its back to 7 + and its icy to high up in the mouintans....Races
are cancelled or moved

2/1-07 Happy new year everyone! Just came back from the forest we train in and discovered to my disapointment roads was all ice with frosen sharp rocks in it....So we went home without running. That puts us back to non-training conditions. I have been working in the hollidays, but those who didnt have had possibility to go to the mouintans where there are snow now. I am really longing for snow and hope we can get away soon Other kennelnews is that Yin is pregnant, and that Smilla came back from Kari and Ulf. She isn`t tough enough in the head to be a long distance dog. She has the sweetest non-conflict,charming temprament and will look for a recreational home in the future |

6/12 Enough said about bad weather on this page,
seems like its the same all over...no snow, lot of rain. But last
weekend we were at NSHK camp at Syningen, 900-1000 m a/sl.
And got a touch of winter. Very bumpy trails along the bogs,
but good training for the youngsters to run through slush and mud.
One day with sun and one with snow, fog and wind Since my
dogs have very little training this year, we went only on 15-17 km
trips. Further up in the mouintan plateaus conditions were very nice
they said Felt like luxury just to stand on a sled this year! Also
luxury with two clever handlers the same time, Ronny and Marcel, who
will help out in the kennel since he lives not so far from here.

21/11 Out with veichle today but had to stop after
7 kmtrs, still large patches of glare ice, I was afraid to slide off
the road A week since last run, but at least the dogs got out to
stretch the legs, also tried Till in harness for the first time a
few meters. He was very eager. |

19/11... same lousy rainy weather for days
and weeks . Got to try the sled two times last week, we had a
snowfall that lasted a few days. 7 kmtrs with 3 x 4-5 dog teams on
unploughed roads only , but very refreshing indeed. But now its so
mild that the ice probably will go so it at least get possible to
train with cart or car again. Pups are growing fast, last Nomidaughter is leaving this week All exept one are in sledding homes Lena has moved to a friend .She is very shy and neeeds more soscialisation than I can give her |

5/11 We had some wonderful days of frost and
some snow, but now its back to 9 + and mud....And in the
forestroads were there came more snow than here, its icy. So very
little training still. Last to runs were nice for the dogs in 10 cm
snow but scary and slick for me in the wheicle. I will not take the
time/expences to travel far away to train this season, since there
will be no major racing anyway. Pups will be main priority, but of
course one hope for some good snow around here to do as much
sledding as possible. |

30/10 The depressing weather goes on and
on. Rain rain rain They have forcasted snow tomorrow but ground is
all wet so it does`nt help very much. Been little training for some
weeks too, but my car finally got new heaterfan last week so I can
load dogs again without all windows getting foggy. Hans Olav and Gunhild decided to take Lømmel instead of a Nomi-boy so there is now a male pup available to an active home. Lømmel has settled in well in Stavanger with Valenki and Odin also from my kennel New pics of Nomis pups here
Lømmel enjoying his new life |

10/10 We still didnt have the first night of
frost down here allthough it was almost 0 the other night. Havent been out much to train for a week so the mileage isnt much to brag about. I use a lot of time on pups these days. Dogtrailer were sent for brake service...isn t smart to buy a used one from a dogmusher like we did , too much dogpee over the years have made it rust on vital parts in the wheels and brakes and it get three times as expensive as planned to fix .Also thought of extending it since I can t open the back door of my car while the trailer is connected. unless I stop in a hill and turn the car hard to the side, then I sometimes succseed in opening it:) Very unpractical but not possible to fix they said... |

10/10 I picked up Nomis litter from Frank

29/9 NSHK had its fall camp last
weekend with hot weather and a lot of people and dogs. Good
sozialisation for my pups. Hexas pups had practised at home to be
tied up a bit, but they did a lot of running free at a huge
parkinglot and had a great time and were sleeping in the car with no
accidents in the cage.. Till is allready used to traveling life.
Ronny joined me and were as allways a good helper with the
dogs. I entered the rigrace in 8 dogclass and were nr 3, the boys
(and Yin) were moving good up all the hills. The change to
smaller tires on the cart makes it roll easier too.

Its
been a record warm september, no frostnight in sight.
My freeland grapes has for the first time got ripe and the giant blueberry has many berries. Flowers are still blooming Lots of mushrooms in the forest even after the very dry summer. The dogs are happy about fruit and berries but only those they can *steal* They have jumped up in the plumtree all summer and eaten sour green plums like they use to. By the time they are ripe in late september there are none available at the bottom branches but some fall down anyway. so they crowd around the plum tree trying to stare the fruit down...

17/5 Back from Evertsberg and swedish SH Specialty I only entered Vadim in order to look at dogs
instead. Weather was sunny and perfect all weekend. Vadim got
nr 3. in open male But I suppose a red ribbon wasnt too bad at
this show.... Nice to meet people one have just *met* at internet
and also see some of the new US imports that has arrived in Sweden
which I plan to use in breeding in the future. I was also reliefed that the strange noises in my car had completely disapeared after last visit at mechanichs....Back in time to deliver Sanja at the airport! |

17/5 I was visiting Nomi and the pups, a
very even, fine litter with 1male and 2 female dirtyfaces, the rest
are different shades of gray with masked faces..Since Frank and Nina
wanted to keep them for a while, I will probably pick them up at 4
weeks More pictures later. Got out with the Dyck cart for the first
time the same evening,. with 11 dogs. Have `nt been many
trainingrounds so far, a couple of nights with saccocart only and
one round in front of the car. Hopefully it will get cooler now.![]() |

14/9 Seems like I will be going to
Evertsberg after all. I have only entered Vadim, but he
has lost half of the coat last two weeks and look like a mothed
reindeer. Hopefully there will be time to look at other dogs
opposed to last years stress when I entered too many dogs... White girl, now with the name Sanja, is leaving for Tromsø sunday. |

7/9 Finally got my car back a week
ago (7 weeks without it!), heaterfan dead though and some strange
noises when I turn steering wheel, so guess I have to leave it in
again... But the new (old) motor seems to work fine. I have been
lucky to borrow cars from friends and family so have managed somehow: Temperatures didn`t cool down around here before last week, but I didn`t get out on first trainingrun before wednesday. To my relief the cabin stayed fogfree with the little heat that comes without the fan, even with 12 panting wet dogs in the back The dogs got quite hot so 4 km was plenty. Sikpok and Pipaluk had their first try in harness, and I was very happy with them. No hesitation, full speed ahead! They have grown to be some large, extremely leggy girls. Got my Dyck cart back too after changing back tires to the smaller type, thanks to Stig and Frank for helping out! While visiting Frank I said hello to Nomi, she is due in a week and probably get 5-6 pups. So now the fall can come (just the annual wait for the damned sheep to get collected in my main training area) |

27/8 Still did not get my car back but
hopefully i will beginning of this week. So there has been no
training here yet. Tempratures has been high too and humid, even
late at night so different from last year were it was cool large
part of summer. I will have many youngsters to take care of this
season, beside other factors so I dont think there will be as
much racing as last year, maybe in last part of the winter. Depends
a little if we get snow down here or not. |

13/8 All the pups has left for their new
homes now exept Till, who stays with me and the little white
girl who is still unsold. Much harder to find homes to white ones
than coloured ones. I will put up some more pics of her and the
others later and also Hexas pups . Below are Kira in her new home, seems like she dont mind wool under her instead of straw! Photo by Jon or Gunhild ![]() |

Had an unpleasent visitor in the garden yesterday. I noticed
some intense barking and went to see who it was, and found a
huggorm, Norways only poisonous snake, curled up and hissing 5
cm from the dogyard, right outside my livingroomentrance. In
other words in the middle of my garden. Not so fun! Larka had her nose right at the fence but she was very precautious and jumped back when I made hissing sounds.. I run and got something to kill the snake with, you are not supposed to but what do one do? Did nt want it to dissapear in the bushes right outside my door.... If a dog get stung in the nose it might be deadly Last time I saw one was 7 years ago when Konyak was bitten. He killed the snake himself.... I dont feel relaxed walking in sandals these days.... |

31/7 Thanks to those who wanted to help
looking for a motor, search can be called off. I was lucky and
found a quite fresh one in Oslo today, it actually has less
miles on it than my car had when I bought it and have had all
services...But still annoying with all that money *out of the window*
I sure could have needed them for other things. But now I will
hopefully cheque the oil regularly the rest of my life, thats for
sure! Hexa and the pups are doing fine they are still in the kitchen but will soon be moved outside |

30/7 It has been terribly hot this summer
like many other places. The dogs that usually dont dip in the *poolboat*
also use it.these days, while the more stupid ones dig out the water
in their waterbucket for a sport. Now its finally raining again. I havent trained the dogs since spring, now training season is upcoming soon. Pups are growing fast and enjoy the playground very much.
